There's a school of thought which suggests that the only way to disable the fascist movement is to stop shielding MAGA voters from the consequences of their actions.

Well, now that the GOP administration is disabling disease surveillance, response, and even basic research, there's no shield. 1/ 🧵
We appear to be seeing an uptick of devastating flu-associated Acute Necrotizing Encephalitis in children this season. We've had reports here in No. Cal. Others out of Boston. We're piecemealing things together because there's no active surveillance for ANE, and CDC can't communicate with partners.

1/Three words in the regime's latest salvo against Harvard reveal that their supposed investigation has NOTHING to do with anti-semitism or civil rights, but is cover for rolling back civil rights under the guise of merit.

1/ A short thread on the IHE piece about the regime's call to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) to take action on Columbia.

Essentially, USED is asking MSCHE to do something different than they already did.

ED Pressures Accreditor to Act on Columbia
The Trump administration called on Middle States to take action against Columbia for alleged civil rights violations, arguing it is out of compliance with accreditation standards.

Ok, I did a deep dive into this EO and here's what I came up with. This EO, if it's upheld by the courts, will allow employers to discriminate, legally, against anyone who isn't an able bodied straight white Christian male.

No accreditation=no Title IV funding (Pell, etc).

Harvard might be able to survive this but most of higher ed, including the schools that educate the vast majority of Americans, would shut down.

Thus it’s no accident that yesterday’s other EO imagines a future w/o colleges. #academicsky

The regime’s war against US higher education is predicated against their bizarro interpretation of the Civil Rights Act, particularly Titles VI and VII. Oh, and IX if you include the war on trans ppl.

They’re trying to have it both ways. #academicsky
Felon47's audacious attempt to erode decades of civil rights gains should be front page news everywhere, with analysis deconstructing this offensively-titled EO, point by point.

When he says "we had more money than anybody", he means the tiny minority who were vastly wealthy.

Most Americans were poor and lived miserable, work & disease ridden lives -- which ended at the average age of 52.
Trump: "In 1913 they traded to the income tax system. We used to be all tariff. And we had no income tax and we had the wealthiest country we ever had proportionately from about 1870 to 1913. We had more money than anybody."

Oh, and this because we don’t need colleges anymore. We’re going past segregation to, if not everyone can get in college then let’s just shut them all down and not require a college education.

This is what weaponizing rhetoric looks like. It means that accusing the regime of #NoDueProcess is gaining traction and hurting the regime. They can't call due process bad so the next tactic is, "I know you are but what am I?" www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfeL...

I said this last week, that the regime’s threat to revoke Harvard’s tax exempt status had precedent in Bob Jones U.

This current moment is revenge for the Civil Rights movement where the regime is (ab)using Civil Rights era statutes to undo it all.

#academicsky
The Trump administration threatening to take away Harvard's tax exempt status is the resurrection of a previous kind of discrimination, reminding me of when the government took away Bob Jones University's tax exempt status. Here's my piece for today. baptistnews.com/article/trum...
