The latest #climate update from Copernicus shows that 2025 is on course to be:

- joint 2nd warmest year, tied with 2023 and behind 2024 (warmest year)

- November 2025 was the 3rd warmest November globally

So, to all the "RFK's got some good ideas" folks (Rachael Bedard, Leana Wen) and Jay Bhattacharya is "an excellent choice for NIH" (Steven Macedo, Frances Lee) and Vinay Prasad "will bring a breath of fresh air to FDA" (Adam Cifu, John Mandrola) groupies--you own this now too.
I think the *speed* at which RFK Jr and his Great Barrington Declaration/anti-vaxx/Brownstone wrecking crew have been dismantling the US public health system has been really astonishing
Well, Senators Bill Cassidy and Thom Tillis, you wanted RFK Jr. to “go wild” at HHS.

Congratulations. You’ve achieved your goal. He is well on his way to completely destroying the US vaccine program.

Societal health is a pipe dream.

Society expects me to stay healthy in order to be a contributing member, but society does NEXT TO NOTHING to help ensure I stay healthy.

Almost 50% of my students are all sick now.
So, do teachers become obsolete if all kids are sick?

It's also time to stop using the naturopathic term "natural immunity" and replace it with "disease-acquired immunity" to emphasise all of its disadvantages.
A study on 1.7 million people in Hong Kong shows superior hybrid immunity to Covid in people who got vaccinated before infection vs. people who got infected first. "Our findings are a direct rebuttal to arguments for natural immunity," the authors write. doi.org/10.1016/j.va...

The end of COVID relief and the fact that we changed nothing—no new workplace safety rules, no single-payer, etc.—after over 1 million Americans died represents probably the greatest political scandal of the last 100 years.

People who say we should have unlimited energy so we can do CO₂ removal (CDR) at a massive scale don’t understand that there are so many other factors that prevent scaling of CDR.

Among them are geophysical and environmental (land, water, resources, ecosystems), societal, financial, and governance.

In a new leaked memo, the FDA outlined plans to make it much harder to get new vaccines approved, claiming, without sharing evidence, that the COVID vaccines have killed at least 10 children.

This is so reckless. The science shows us that COVID vaccines have saved millions of lives.

“Public health has already seen the power of innovation in increasing participation… Imagine if vaccination offered a similar range of options: a nasal spray, skin patch, or a traditional shot. That small degree of choice could reframe the question from whether to vaccinate to how.”

It's weird to not only have lived through an information revolution but also now living through its undoing, all within less than a generation.
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea
