i mostly liked PILLION but i am kind of not the audience for a "kinksters are people too" kind of movie. more interestingly done in THE DUKE OF BURGUNDY imo.

Ripley does get away with his schemes. There are five books and as many films where that's the case. SALTBURN's problem is it takes the broad plot mechanics of a middle class shapeshifter who insinuates himself in upper class milieu and flattens them into gifs, not real (anti)psychology or critique.
I just saw someone complain Saltburn was "what if everything worked out for Talented Mr. Ripley" and... they apparently meant this as an insult??? These are people I just cannot comprehend or take seriously. This is why Saltburn rules. BE GAY DO CRIME is sadly beyond their tender imaginations
