I think we'd have to go to "Name a film you've seen 28 times" before I could whittle the list down to a dozen or two.

I love Arundhati Roy's courage, integrity, intelligence, and her artistry as a writer of fiction & nonfiction.

Wim Wenders, the jury chair, on being questioned about Gaza, said filmmakers have to stay out of politics. Roy said a genocide demands a response from everyone, artists included. I agree.

Ripley does get away with his schemes. There are five books and as many films where that's the case. SALTBURN's problem is it takes the broad plot mechanics of a middle class shapeshifter who insinuates himself in upper class milieu and flattens them into gifs, not real (anti)psychology or critique.
I just saw someone complain Saltburn was "what if everything worked out for Talented Mr. Ripley" and... they apparently meant this as an insult??? These are people I just cannot comprehend or take seriously. This is why Saltburn rules. BE GAY DO CRIME is sadly beyond their tender imaginations

gaining the trust of a cat feels satisfying, like becoming friends with an old Upper West Sider who doesn't need anyone and would shut the door in your face if they didn't realize you had food for them

everything IS up to date in Kansas City!
More than 200,000 people attended 2025 Hallmark Christmas Experience in Kansas City, with Hallmark's most expensive ($699) package—which offered not much more than early access to seating and more buying opportunities—selling out all 4 weekend's it was offered.

I just don’t want “film a video and hope it goes viral” to be a “reasonable” expectation of authors!! I hate being on video! I am too awkward for video!

my broader feelings about PILLION are that it just doesn't look like Henry Melling's Colin is having that good of a time

reviewed CRIME 101 for @slantmagazine.com, which hangs a little too much on Hemsworth who can't mine much from his inscrutability and tortured bot opaque rags to riches past, but Ruffalo and Berry are good: www.slantmagazine.com/film/crime-1...
