We were just discussing the limits of the goals of education in the current climate. They only want the people smart enough to do basic things and show up to work. Critical thinking is discouraged.
I dunno - mid-century? Dumbing down of USA was underway when Mark Twain was writing. His savage satire on the feuding inbreeds fooled by two conmen wasn't a fairy tale. (And before u start, those in power have vested interest in educating masses only as far as required. E.g. can u push a button?)

Autism is genetic, runs in families, and is a natural & healthy part of human neurodiversity.

The numbers of young ppl identified as Autistic has increased with the active efforts to identify Autistic children younger …

it’s a phenomenon called #AutismAwareness.

Today, we’re voting on what Republicans are calling the “SAVE Act”—but let’s be real, it’s a straight-up voter suppression bill.

They are literally trying to make it harder for millions of Americans to exercise their right to vote.

I’m voting NO—hell no, actually.

It really is possible to accomplish great things. It takes putting differences aside. I wonder what the results would be if this had become a problem today. We other people who are like us and worship the oligarchs who will let it all burn so long as they can profit from it.

Harm reduction isn’t about nudging people toward abstinence—it’s about rejecting the idea that drug use makes someone disposable in the first place.

Someone in your life has likely used ketamine. It doesn’t make people behave badly. Someone in your life might be alive thanks to ketamine.

Ketamine is an invaluable drug and doesn’t make people racist or fascist. Stigmatize bad people instead of giving them an excuse by stigmatizing drugs they use
I wrote a more personal Substack post today. But as I've seen people wrongly attribute the myriad problems with Musk to ketamine use, I wanted to add my voice to the conversation, as someone who is able to teach health policy thanks to ketamine's benefits. open.substack.com/pub/miranday...
Being a Ketamine Patient in the Musk Era
Why the narrative around Musk's ketamine use not only gets things wrong, but is harmful to ketamine patients.
