Woke up from a nap. Was going to try to write something insightful about the political news of the day, but everyone has definitely said it better already.

Just catching up on the fact that Dispatch is...limited in romance storylines, let's say. Given that I'm really enjoying the characters so far (I just finished episode 4!), I'm still GOING to enjoy it. I just hope that in a theoretical season 2 of the game they get some LGBTQI+ possibilities.

As per usual I buzzed my head and beard on one of the coldest days. But that’s what hooded sweatshirts are for.

This is one of those "of all the things I could think of that would've set off that unhinged post...what did it was certainly not one of them" moments.

Yes, you *can* use "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" in order to include all 26 English letters, but why would you when "Sphinx of the black quartz, judge my vow" exists?

I have given in and started Dispatch.
I've only really gotten to the part where Blonde Blazer is making the offer, but...yeah...this is all working for me better than I thought it might.
(Meanwhile everyone who knows me would be, like, "OF COURSE IT WORKS FOR YOU." I know.)

Between Microsoft and Apple both going "we've got the AI in there, but you'll be able to turn it off!" it certainly seems like we've gone around another curve to the "we realize we oversold AI, but we're gonna avoid admitting it for a decade" destination.

Remember: don't eat the mid tier fast food chicken, don't play the wizard game, don't shop at the hobby store run by the bad guys from Indiana Jones, and don't donate to the bigot bucket.
I know it's a tad early but I know those bitches with the buckets will be out soon. Don't gove them a penny. The volunteers may not know but the salvation army is no ally and actively combative and harmful to many queer minorities especially during the holiday season

Aha! After much digging, I found (one of) my original Inquisitors. This would be my archer, Kennan, I believe.
Between archers and mages, I definitely prefer keeping the range open.

Quick cartoon. I was hoping to stay unplugged this week but I saw some news and had to take a break to draw this out. I think we all needed to see it realized.

Yeah, we pretty much all knew his "I'm worried I'm not going to get into heaven" phase was over when he didn't get the Nobel Prize, but here's reason 40,723 or whatever.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

Oh, FFS.
TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

These.

Fucking.

Ghouls.
USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins plans to make all SNAP recipients reapply and prove "that they literally are vulnerable and they can’t survive without it.”

The 'genuinely disabled'

The 'literally vulnerable'

They keep moving the goalposts.

They were never going to fund SNAP. It's eugenics:
Trump administration will require SNAP participants to reapply for benefits
Food aid recipients are already required to recertify their information regularly. But the move is part of USDA chief Brooke Rollins’ effort to overhaul the program.

Good gods, I remember wanting to be a journalist so badly. I knocked myself off-course because I couldn't imagine doing the "how did you feel when you saw the horrible murder" question to someone.
Today's journalism environment probably would have killed me.
