The Nobel Peace Prize becoming so prestigious that wars are fought over a head of state coveting it is some real monkey paw stuff for Alfred Nobel.

"Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right." - Abraham Lincoln
The question isn't "what side would Jesus pick?" The real question is, "Will you side with Jesus?" Jesus already has a position, a default. He's not trying to make a third way between L and R. Jesus is the established side of love and everything else must decide if they will stand with him.

I actually talked about this with my therapist this week - the dichotomy I felt at the bishop’s comments between, “YEAH LET’S GO!” And “Wait, I don’t want to die.”
But I do believe that death has been conquered in Christ. And there is risk in defending the vulnerable.

oh yes, our secret police are morally superior to the protestors because we pretend they're locally sourced.

Thank God for people in bathrobes and from out of town and flying in from every other city they've attacked to help protect our neighbors.
the majority of the activity doesn't even seem remotely protest-related! it's just convoys of goons driving all over the place trying to kidnap every person who doesn't have white skin and a bunch of people following them around making noise to prevent this
Every time the Trump regime uses the words "funded protesters" and "outside agitators" news outlets need to cut to this photo from last week.

ICE has invaded these communities. Outside agitators don't show up in their fucking bathrobes.

Not the point of the metaphor, but:
the story is probs about the division of the United Kingdom of Israel into the kingdoms of Judah (South) and Israel (North). It's basically telling the stupid kings who caused the division in the first place not to go to war and destroy the child in the process.
Not to question the Wisdom of Solomon, but I've never been entirely clear why chopping the baby in half was supposed to work to root out the faker.

The whole point of them arguing was that they both wanted the baby, and half a baby is not really something anyone wants extant of the other half.
Tfw you somewhat miss King Solomon's point

not supporting abolishing ICE is tacit support for things like this, just fyi
One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.

Impossible corn dogs are better than regular corn dogs. As a bit of a connoisseur, I am more surprised than you about this reality.

This could be the unified Dem position. It is wildly popular. Puts the regime on defense on two fronts at the same time. Good policy, good politics.
The Congressional Progressive Caucus, a group of nearly 100 House Democrats, will announce later today that it's formally endorsing legislation to strip $175 billion from ICE and put it toward affordable housing. www.huffpost.com/entry/doj-fe...

The Lord's Prayer, in the casual register:

Hey Dad, way up there.
Your name means a lot.
I hope you're here soon, and what you want happens, here and everywhere.
I need some food today, like every day.
I'm sorry for the bad shit I've done.

Join Micah, Aaron, Ell, and Spencer as we discuss God entering God's dwelling in Exodus 40. What is the significance of this final moment? How is God coming to dwell with the people a transformative experience for everyone? And how can we become God's dwelling place?
