Is civil engineering really more than 1/3 of the local govt budget ?
Obviously it's because one of these properties costs far more to service - water, transit, power, waste, roads, etc, etc, etc?

... Wait that's the one on the right? 🫨

Getting mad at the concept of a tiny drop-off area is not it. The alternative is drivers illegally stopping on public roads, creating traffic conflicts, endangering everyone. Do I love car-to-transit? Lol no. But it's always going to be part of our mobility system.
This is apparently something called a “Kiss and Ride” drop off. A maze for cars next to a train station. I have never heard of this term, but it echos what @volts.wtf has said that we waste transit projects that still serve suburban commuters and cars over moving people to places they want to be

Signing bonusses and life-changing advances.
What's the best way to encourage creators you follow and admire to get off of Substack and onto a platform like Ghost without coming across as a scold? And without being complain-y, but actually helpful?

Meanwhile, in the far-left progressive bastion of ... entire State of Utah:

"The plan shows 3,100 miles of paths. The network would come within a mile of 95% of Utahns, connect to 33 school campuses, 31 state/national parks, and 74 high-capacity transit stations."

Utah plans to build a statewide network of paved trails that will act like an interstate system for bikes.

"If published, somebody wants it to be seen as true" is the only reliable influence.

General news sources more proximate to events covered may have a greater chance of being more accurate.
I feel one million years old here, but we do actually have a pretty reliable way of knowing what news is true. Did a real newspaper publish it? Then probably yes. Can’t find it in a real newspaper? Maybe not.
A large majority of U.S. adults now get news digitally, but nondigital news consumers are less likely to say they extremely often or often encounter inaccurate news.

In a capital city of over 8 million, there are probably at least 4 such well-qualified people.
AG or some other attorney office, comptroller, public advocate, running a company. It’s true that there aren’t tons and tons of people with credentials like this, but that’s kind of fine - you are talking about executive control of a city that’s comparable to a mid-sized state.
I mean... seems fine for a mayor? Not sure what else we'd rather see.

Not much executive experience you can expect from a guy running for NYC mayor. Not like you work your way up from a smaller town.

Moving to Mars is a surefire way to lose weight.
Like you can move to Mars with weaker gravity that will likely make your bones brittle and no magnetosphere so you will have to live in tunnels to not be destroyed by radiation.

I'll stay on earth with gravity and radiation levels my body likes.
