Marc Reisner’s Cadillac Desert offers a history of development in the American West, particularly its water projects. @ryanlcooper.com recently reread the 1986 work: He found the book witty and well written, but “in places infected with Reaganite politics.” trib.al/ps8iqVK
‘Cadillac Desert’ Reconsidered - The American Prospect
Marc Reisner’s 1986 book demonstrates how a hypertrophic judiciary combines with America’s deadlocked legislature to make vast swaths of Western water policy dependent on 19th-century legal norms.

Yea, I think they missed that part. Their strategy is to be as nebulous and uncommitted to policies that will actually improve people’s lives.
Leaders who’ll fight for a student loan debt forgiveness program for Pell Grant recipients who start a business that operates for three years in disadvantaged communities?
“Americans want leaders to fight for them. And that is what we will continue to do in 2026.”

We knew this but we should remind ourselves that we need to hold Dem leadership accountable. This leadership believes in nothing except garnering as much $ from billionaire donors. And now we have Harris trying to run again. Reject this strategy.
Autopsy Says Corporate Capture, Support for Genocide Were Key Factors in Democrats' 2024 Disaster | Common Dreams

I know Saagar would not agree with M4A but that is the first step to reeling this in. Forgiving student debt across the board is also required. All office seekers should make it a part of their platforms.

Cuellar accepted a pardon from Trump, who clearly wanted the congressman personally indebted to him. That's not what a real opposition party does. Democrats on the Appropriations committee should vote against reinstating Cuellar.

Are you going to condemn Trump and his attacks on Ilhan Omar? You eagerly give Cuellar a hand job but you can’t find the decency to defend Omar when she’s a million times more ethical than that POS. You are worthless. Retire.
It’s time to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits.

Now.

Interesting when MTG can criticize Trump more than you can. You didn’t mention anything when Trump brought in a former Al Qaeda leader to the White House. You praised Trump when he pardoned perennially corrupt Henry Cuellar. You’ve said nothing about the boat killings. You only serve capital.
The high cost of living is out of control.

Donald Trump’s tariffs are making things worse.

House Republicans have zero interest in doing anything about it.

Any victories for Centrists(like Shapiro) are usually short lived because those candidates are rarely dedicating to using their position to improving peoples’ lives. Then, the Centrists get beat by an extreme right winger in the subsequent election. One caveat has been AIPAC funding of Centrists.
Voters are very clearly punishing ALL Republicans just for being associated with Trump. Centrists, leftists, it doesn't matter, as long as they are not-GOP, they overperform.

Good read from John Harwood. Co-Equal provides the historical context of policies that improve Americans’ lives. Now, lets go further and demand M4A. Tax corporations and billionaires(hopefully out of existence) to pay for it.

We know exactly what the GOP is like when it comes to affordability. But why aren’t you advancing policies to make life more affordable? M4A? Higher min wage of $26/hr? Universal pre-school? Start vigorously endorsing these policies.
Why haven’t Republicans done a damn thing to make your life more affordable?

The extremists are focused on all the wrong things, like trying to start a war in Venezuela.

These people have been a complete disaster.
