Just putting this here once more (edited, so I don't get into trouble again!):
It might be worth noting, folks who glom onto people through DMs; that's not what social media is *for*. Post your thoughts on the world; join conversations; and it will open up for you. (Do more than just repost, yes?)

Love these folks. Also, *what* at turn of phrase Orwell had!

Also, it isn't actually a positive quality to have malfunctioning tastebuds.
13. Loving spicy food and making sure everyone knows you like spicy food and commenting on how food is never spicy enough for you is not a substitute for a personality

Participatory democracy at its finest. Go Greens!
Labor has teamed up with the Liberals with a last minute deal to pass dangerous new laws limiting speech and political expression. The Greens condemn the major parties for rushing through these laws that will have real impacts on people trying to speak out for human rights and against genocide.

Worth going to Swan Hill on a cooler day; saw at least three groups of choughs, none of them my local (they were hanging out in the back lane as I got back). Also maggies all over, ducks and seagulls by the river, but no stumpies today.
(And I managed not to pay for any parking, yay!)

Oooh. There have been worse ideas...
Time to start collecting evidence to get that Advance group proscribed as a hate group. They won't be able to help themselves based on the quality of the clowns in it. Leopards and faces makes for the best statements

Couldn't have put it better myself.
The good law, gun reform, was passed with the Coalition voting against it and Greens for it. The bad law, racial vilification, was passed with the Coalition voting for it (some Nats excepted) and Greens against it. Neat encapsulation of the social utility of each party.

Ha, Swan Hill run today; only 34, should be a breeze. Now, can I sneak into Bunnings without breaking the bank?

Well, that was interesting. A short sharp dust storm; the nervy cat ventre à terre, so he doesn't like those either, poor beastie. Brought the temperature down some, though!

This. (Do not give me any of your "but I didn't" nonsense, in other words.)
Morning. ☕️

Well, I've finished the ironing (for now), but in spite of it being right up in the top 10 of loathed things, I ain't complaining - at least I have electricity! So an electric iron, light to see by, music to listen to... What are they doing in Ukraine? Flat irons on butane stoves? I'm in clover.

LLMs are spam generators. That is all.

They're designed to generate plausibly human-like text well enough to pass a generic Turing Test. That's why people believe they're "intelligent".

But really, all they are is spam generators.

We have hit the spamularity.

<heaves sigh of relief> Still, early days to relax.
The Greens won't support the hate speech Bill in its current form. Good.

Split the bill, pass the gun stuff, send the rest to Committee for proper scrutiny. www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

It's no good telling *me* you agree with me, folks - you've gotta tell the Greens. Email them at greens@greens.org.au.

I have to agree, @greens.org.au. Kill it stone dead, if you please.
If Greens support this fascistic bill and enshrine Zionist capture, it will destroy them. Your voters will see sellouts and cowards caving on our liberties because you're not up for the fight. Because you're scared of getting yelled at in the newspapers. @davidshoebridge.bsky.social

I *really* want to go out and water before it gets too hot, but there's a group of about a dozen choughs getting into the bee water (why not the big pond, guys? It's just been freshened up), chatting, inspecting the compost, and generally having a good time - mustn't disturb!
