to be honest i kinda don't really care all that much about space colonisation as like an actual irl concept. if any of it happens within my lifetime then yeah that'd be neat but if not that's fine as well. i have bigger things weighing on my mind at the moment anyway...

The Q-drive (and related "plasmadyne propulsion") is one of the coolest concepts I have come across. It can be used interplanetary and interstellar. It‘s a hard sci-fi *sailship*, except it can harvest energy from a different direction than it thrusts. So in IP travel it powers from solar wind.
For #toughtober Day 8 (Plasma) I made an animation illustrating how a Q-drive works. Annotated diagram to come later. Once again entirely nondestructive #scifi #space #art thanks to #blender3d #geometrynodes
