Wrote about the build mechanics in Tears of the Kingdom, a piece of the game that I'm not very good at.
Tears of the Kingdom reminds me I’m not very creative.
So I've been really into Tears of the Kingdom lately and I know that I'm playing it wrong. What I mean by this is that the game has mechanics that are all centered around using gadgets, tools or combining weapons with other items to give them unique characteristics or just stronger. I'm not doing any of that though. I mainly stick to very basic contraptions and I'm hoarding all my items, not because I'm saving them up, I just don't have any fun ideas on how to use them.

I did it, I beat Death Stranding and then of course wrote about it.
Game Over: Death Stranding shows that games can be positive.
I decided to start a new series where I talk about a game I recently beat. I last beat Deliver Us Mars and felt like even though I might not beat games all that off, delivering a sort of postmortem might be fun and force me to think more critically about a game after I've beaten it. So with that said, let's jump into Death Stranding.

R.E.P.O. Finally Added A Bunch of Content, I Haven’t Played Any of It.
So I wrote previously about how I wish R.E.P.O. had more content and that I felt bad for maybe having unfair expectations on the game. Well, R.E.P.O. was received a content update, which added a new map, items and better mechanics to make the game harder. Have I played any of the new content? Nope. Will I give it a try at some point?

Loved hearing that @plante.bsky.social and I have the same favorite Wes Anderson film, I trust him even more now. Also the conversation around games media is exactly why I tried having my own personal blog to have better conversations around video games.

this is maybe trite at this point but it is in your interest to find ways to create things. basically everyone wants you to be consuming nonstop. making stuff, from cooking to photography or whatever, can help you feel more in control. doesn’t even have to be something you share with other people

Wrote about Mario Kart, didn't think I had a ton in me for this one. So surprised how much I was able to put on virtual paper.
Mario Kart World maybe didn’t need to go big.
I picked up Mario Kart World for the Switch 2, because it's one of the few first-party launch titles for the system. It's fun, it's the Mario Kart you'd expect, with some new characters and items to freshen things up. It also has a open world mode for you to drive around in and a new Knockout mode that uses that open world for new gameplay.

R.E.P.O. is a Good Time, But I’m Maybe Broken Inside for Wanting More.
I've been playing R.E.P.O. with friends like the rest of the internet and I had some thoughts. R.E.P.O. is for sure a good time, don't get me wrong. I don't think I've laughed as much when playing a game in recent memory. While I'm happy to keep it in rotation with my friend group, I think there's some stuff missing that really could make it stand out for me.
