yeah even if these things work in a 2024 (or 2000, or 2004) like tied, they don't do much in a Blue Wave. And the reason i advocate for paying attention to special and odd year elections is not just cause I'm an obsessive, it's cause you can see elections happening every week!
you can't actually suppress away a wave of discontent. (relatedly, i think a lot of you have no idea how large this country is and how small its various military and security forces are relative to its population)

Same ratio in my childhood home state for SC as in my current home state or Gov 10:1. Apprpopriate as Republicans are heading for a decimation this year.

I am not over how the Margaret Atwood quote just keeps coming true in MPLS "men are afraid women will laugh at them / women are afraid men wiill kill them' but this at least a delightful iteration
Oh my god this lady rules. I love this.
Just make fun of these poseurs.

This is a classic of the genre, calling states red based on the binary on if Republicans tend to win them or not, no distinction between overperformances or speciic election cycles or candidates. Basically, don't be this cereal guy.

Watching the feed I have curated for MN sports suddenly become a font of inspiration that encourages people to protest in the same way they encourage us to make sense of the self inflicted assaults on the Twins — by coming together — is just one of the great joys of my life
January 11, 2026 at 2:16 PM
This is how you protest with cultural competence. Falling ICE agents take note
Yesterday I did a short video saying going to protests is not scary. Mpls protestors sledding on their signs in Powderhorn Park afterwards perfectly encapsulates what I’m talking about:

As they should ! Natural consequences baby!
The car I’m in got stuck in the same spot right after, and people came out of their homes to help us.

This plus Noem whining about the snow tells you all you need to know about these outside occupiers
This morning in Minneapolis, an ICE vehicle got stuck on an icy hill in a residential neighborhood. Agents had to push the vehicles out, some almost slipping in the ice themselves.

Kelly Hayes(@mskellymhayes.bsky.social), speaking tonight, recalls a Minneapolan today telling at federal agents, "you can't kill us all."

"I am grateful to the people of Minneapolis tonight," she says. "Their courage in the wake of this violence is a bright light for us to rally around."

I’ll take good points for 500
First, it's factually wrong. There will be elections in 2026 and 2028 under Trump, just like there were elections last year under Trump and during his first term. This despite one of the two major parties now harboring a lot of anti-democratic elements and ideas.

We stand with Minneapolis. Arrest, investigate, and ICE get the fuck out.
We strongly condemn the deadly shooting of a Minneapolis resident by a federal immigration enforcement officer during an ICE and CBP operation. Our hearts are with the victim and their loved ones, and with the Twin Cities community that is once again being terrorized by federal immigration raids.

Don’t worry Dems still putting up 2025 numbers in 2026, and VA should have responsive redistricting ballot measure coming soon
Rest of the votes came in for the Virginia special elections

SD-11

2026: Dem +40%
2024: Harris +28%

HD-77

2026: Dem +59%
2024: Harris +50%

Results tonight look closer to 2025 than 2024

Just came home from the hospital in Philly after a minor surgery with my Jews for Zohran tote! Now this is my first read www.dropsitenews.com/p/zohran-mam...
Zohran Mamdani Has More Jewish Support Than You Think
While attention is on the new mayor’s revocation of pro-Israel executive orders, analysis reveals age and income shaped the Jewish vote more than ethnicity, religion, or support for Israel

Happy new year to everyone but Kim Reynolds who per Laura chose today for this election. When will they learn?
Polls closed a few minutes ago and Democrat Renee Hardman has 73% of the vote in Iowa Senate district 16. Only a few precincts not counted.
Republicans will not win back their super majority.
December 31, 2025 at 2:38 AM
And Republicans lose their ability to confirm Gov Reynolds appointees. Feeling like it wont be the last loss of the cycle
Looks like most of the vote is in for the Iowa #SD16 (Harris+17) special election:

Renee Hardman (D)- 73.3%
Lucas Loftin (R)- 26.7%

Nearly a 30 point overperformance to cap off an amazing 2025 for the Iowa Democrats
December 31, 2025 at 2:29 AM
The woman on the right just turned in a 30 pt overperformance to be the first Black woman in the Iowa State Senate! That's
a lot even for Iowa!
Today is a great day to elect Renee Hardman!

Polls are open until 8 PM, so make sure to cast your ballot to prevent a GOP supermajority and elect a real working class candidate and champion like Renee!

Once again , if these are your tactics you are headed for a loss
The Utah GOP is having to trick people into signing the Independent Redistricting Repeal Referendum sometimes borderline harassing voters

Was thinking exactly this. And that my 10 year old would be rocking out to him (though even more to Huntrix of course)
I'd love to try to explain to 20-year-old-me in 1993 how Snoop Doggy Dogg became a universally beloved elder statesman who'd be the centerpiece of a Super Bowl-level halftime show in 2025.
