I'm I always annoyed with this argument that inevitably pops up during elections. You don't live here but there are many immigrants who have lived here for years (ie directly affected by election outcomes) who are denied the right to vote because they don't have citizenship ( which is expensive!).
Ireland may be voting for a new president today, but Irish citizens who have moved abroad can't cast a ballot.

<div class="field field-field-text"><p><a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/countries/israel" target="_blank">Israeli</a> attacks have continued in the Gaza Strip despite an announcement by mediators on Thursday that a ceasefire had been reached to end the two-year war on the <a href="https://www.middleeasteye.net/countries/palestine" target="_blank">Palestinian</a> enclave.</p>
<p>Heavy air strikes and artillery shelling were reported in Gaza City and Khan Younis overnight, according to local media.</p>
<p>Israeli quadcopters were also reported to have dropped bombs on civilians in Gaza City.</p>
<p>At least one person was killed in the attacks.</p>
<p>The renewed strikes came after US, Qatari, and Egyptian mediators announced early Thursday that a deal had been reached between Israel and Hamas to end the war.</p>

This has been an ongoing problem which is courtesy of a Luxembourg investment fund that owns thousands of houses in Ireland. These are rented out through one of the dozens of subsidiary companies that the fund uses to obscure its ownership.

Not entirely sure the minister for justice has really thought thru putting himself front and center of a leaked Garda vetting story given how few people would have access to that information
