Sometimes I can just close my eyes and breathe in the love and appreciation I have for one of my best friends. This week it's supportive chats, a lunch date and knowing that the love and connection is mutual. It's a tiny good thing in a sea of stress, but it IS a very GOOD thing. Love you Prky.

Okay, so this morning at least it feels like I woke up on a holiday morning. That's a nice feeling.

Election day in Australia, I'm practicing my queuing at Lune Croissanterie. Soon voting and the democracy sausage 🌭 cherry on top 🍒 Today I will watch the coverage and soak up Antony Green and appreciate his expertise and eloquence one last time.

A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Did a cooking with @foxoo.bsky.social yesterday, we made the Smith & Daughters vegan spaghetti and meatballs and the tiramisu. Both tasted amazing!! So delicious, will make again. Nice to just do a thing like that together and enjoy the result!

Welcome to 2025, I hope it will be a happy new year and I did my best to speed 2024 on its way. I leaned far further into superstition than I normally would. Usually this time is liminal time in which I'm finalising reflections on the theme of the previous year for me.

Indulging in another selfie or two, on my way out to dinner for my birthday with my awesome friends and my beloved gf. So excited! 💖
