I know I'm late, but I want to say happy pride month to all the amazing friends I have - and to all the strangers out there - who identify as LGTBQIA+. Let me say this once, and let it be heard loud and clear:

You matter. Your existence is important. Your voice is important. Your life is important.
Shamelessly boosting this in case anyone can help out.
I swear this is the last time I use Wix -__-

Does anyone know any good web designers that can make really cool sites that I should keep my eye on?

Concerts are wild. You'll meet people you'll have the time of your life with. Become the best of friends. Laugh, sing, dance, share your past, your future dreams together. Then you'll go home, never speak to that person again, and never know their name. But you'll have made everlasting memories.

I return to this quote from David Foster Wallace quite often:

Learning how to think really means learning how to exercise some control over how and what you think. It means being conscious and aware enough to choose what you pay attention to and to choose how you construct meaning from experience.

A friend of mine just mentioned he was taking photos at a punk show using his PlayStation Vita. Which reminded me of taking pictures on my Nintendo DSi if I didn't have an actual camera available.

So, question for everyone: What weird devices have you used to take pictures in a pinch?

CW: Death / Depression

One of the most difficult things about losing the people closest to you is no longer being able to call them or text them when you want to reminisce about old times with them. Memories that you once shared are no longer shared memories, and belong to no one else but you.

The Steam Controller also worked surprisingly great for accessibility. It was the only controller I was able to use when I had carpal tunnel.
The Steam Controller was way underappreciated, hoping they do another one some day, take what they've learned from the Steam Deck's control scheme
We should try Steam Machines again. Why not. Give it a shot.

Feels like a good afternoon for some music. You can't convince me that music doesn't help heal the soul.

On a completely unrelated note, I highly recommend the films "Grave of the Fireflies" (1988) and "Come and See" (1985) if you have not yet seen them.

Yeah, this account isn't staying silent. I may lose followers for this, but I take this quote from Maggie Kuhn as the guiding principle to my integrity:

“Leave safety behind. Put your body on the line. Stand before the people you fear and speak your mind – even if your voice shakes.”

Internet has been out for going on ... three days? Four days? -- too many days now. Been "productive" with the net down. Finished up Twin Peaks: The Return, started reading this book as per recommendation by my therapist (I've been annotating *a lot*), and been progressing through The Witcher 3.

Kubuntu users; does anyone know any beginner-friendly software I can use to completely wipe metadata from photos (JPG, RAW, etc.)? I have no idea what I'm doing here, but I know I want to do a full metadata wipe.

I'm not sharing this for any specific reason. Definitely not.

Fellow indie game devs, there is now an accessibility feature wizard when making your store page on Steam. Players can now filter by accessibility features, so make sure you go edit your store page and do the wizard!

Love that my Sony LinkBuds S can't even make it through a single, 30-minute album anymore.

Wired IEMs > TWS buds

At least with IEMs, you can hook them up to a TWS Bluetooth adapter (FiiO UTWS5, for example) when you need that Bluetooth, and then hook them back up to the wire for at-home use.

Anyone remember BioShock?

So many people bashing the Switch 2 or bashing the Steam Deck, or even bashing the Xbox Ally. Y'all, chill. They can all three be good. Or they can all three be bad. One of them might work for one person, but not for someone else. At the end of the day, we're all here to play our games.

Does anyone else remember when Game Freak made that game with the badass elephant and then published it under Sega? No? Only me? What was his name...?

... Tim Bow? Tebow? Two Bone? Motimb? Dumbo? Tenbone? Huh. Oh well. I guess we'll never know.

I'm quite partial to being torn into giblets, personally.
Probably my least favorite way to be torn is to shreds

Lorna Shore is playing near me the day before The Witcher 3 in Concert? Well, that's... at this rate, I might have to put in a vacation request for that week.

It's time to finally do this operation on my PlayStation Vita. The left thumbstick has a complete mind of its own, but I figure I might as well replace both while I'm in there. Using one of my trusty toolkits from @ifixit.com for this repair.

Wish me luck. I've never been inside a Vita before.

How much band merch is too much band merch?
I may be on the track to finding out.

Oh, on the note of handhelds, I finally ordered some replacement sticks for my PlayStation Vita. Hopefully they work lol iFixit didn't have them in-stock, so I bought some off eBay. I would love to replay some of the games I have that are still stuck on Vita, though. Maybe even try a few new ones...

I have such a weird relationship with the Switch 2. I see so many people online - and some people I know irl - who are super excited about the Switch 2. Can't stop talking about it. Couldn't have it in-hand soon enough. Meanwhile, I'm over here like "Why am I not excited? Am I missing something?"
