I think the state needs to step in and set a no more than one transit app per state requirement. Srsly, why do I need separate AC Transit, BART, SMART, VTA, Amtrak, Clipper, ACE, and MUNI apps on my phone?
I think the state needs to step in and set a no more than 1 bus agency per county requirement (across counties is good)
Fractured service is an issue from LA to Ventura to the Bay Area
The state should also work to standardize buses. Pick your paint scheme and seat/fabric color and not much else.

How I know bicycle infrastructure in Oakland is getting pretty good: my excuse for being lazy and not going to an event is that the route to get there is only about 70% protected bike lane.

To every cis person glazing Gavin Newsom by insisting he’s “better for trans people” when the primaries haven’t even happened yet: Fuck you.

Ignoring our warnings that Newsom is a transphobic billionaire puppet is bad enough but leveraging our struggles to defend him? Seriously, fuck you.

Wait now I want to put googly eyes on a table saw. But where? It's like the belt-on-a-centaur problem.
Do not put googly eyes on the table saw should be common sense and yet.

The most effective AI regulations we could pass, today, would be banning use of first-person human pronouns, and banning the advertising business model. That would be *alignment* of AI with humanity. But it isn’t alignment of AI with the bubble‘s business needs so 🤷

@bauerkahan.bsky.social how are decision makers in your district concerned enough about bike safety issues to support drastic state law changes, but not concerned enough to even pick up the phone & talk to reps from the org that's worked on East Bay bike safety issues for over 50 years?

E-bikes are accessibility devices.
I met an older man while tabling for BikeSD who was so scared of getting a ticket for riding his ebike on the PB boardwalk. Said he can't pedal very far on his own anymore and the ebike has been a godsend but he doesn't want to risk a big fine just trying to get his daily exercise
It really annoys me that the moral panic over e-bikes obscures the incredible impact they have had for disabled people.

Good stuff. The legal mandate for JDSF is 1950's-era "maximum sustained production of high‑quality forest products", which is a) a solved problem and b) not aligned with current research at JDSF around climate change, resiliency, and restoration.
🌲 In a letter to the editor, a Mendocino resident urges the state to remove the logging mandate at Jackson Demonstration State Forest, calling for a shift toward restoration and tribal co-governance.
