Seconding Pixel Logic, it's a fantastic book that really goes into detail on how to make your pixel art really shine!

Very good insight on some of the history following the end of WWII and the mentalities behind the soldiers. The Nazis were very much undone in large part because of the records they kept, and we're in the Information Age, where those records are nigh impossible to remove.
