@tonyabb.bsky.social
Amazed to have made it into my eighth decade. Resolute cynic of politics and the economy. On the left and supporter of women and minorities. Dark sense of humour. Living on Kabi Kabi country. Anti Zionist
Job description: young, brash and amoral
Real estate has the most disproportionate stupidity to income ratio of any industry. Open a fucking door , get a fucking commission

I think that the last time that the parliamentary Labor party truly stood for Labor party ideals or labour was when Gough was in charge.
Can’t wait to find out

Dear Queensland

I am about to move into you. Shit is about to get real because this bare foot Antifa activist isn’t fucking having it. None of it. You have been forewarned.
Queensland appointed two Catholic strategists to Ed board, replacing union. Classic 2020s US Right politics, working through the back door to crush public education’s independence & strength. One of them: also culture warrior Advance & Classical Christian Ed. #auspol

Insert @albomp.bsky.social for Starmer #auspol
Starmer will go down in history as the man who destroyed a 100 year old Labour movement by selling it out to the rich for the sake of his own career and advancement. The Tories are dead, Labour is dead, time for a new left based on the Greens, the Celtic indy parties & the old Labour left.

There’s something obscene about those that we elect to make life better for all spruiking for cheap charity
Narrator: his job was to ensure families were not doing it tough.
The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal reflects the best of the Australian spirit: generosity, compassion and community.

Together, we’re making Christmas brighter for families doing it tough.

Bureau of Meteorology’s website overhaul cost $86 million.

Accenture received $78m for the website. Nine contract extensions later – originally supposed to cost $31m.

Deloitte got $35m for its work on the site – originally supposed to cost $11m.

I think school groups should not be taken to parliament. There they see not a government for the people but truly appalling behaviour by well paid people concerned largely about themselves and their corporate backers. Hardly desirable role models.
Parliamentary behaviour! Instead of saving the planet we get to watch very highly paid folk yelling at each other

The problem with society is not left and right, not blue and red, not old and young, not city and rural, not Christian, Muslim or Jew.

The problem is me vs we.

The existential threat to humanity is ‘me’ thinking. ‘Me’ is libertarianism, it’s capitalism, it’s nationalism, it’s corporatism.

Be ‘we’

Dutch child rapist and volleyballer has been denied entry to Australia after urging from SA Attorney General Kyam Maher

“We do not believe that foreign child sex offenders should be granted entry to this country “ he wrote.

Yet our PM invited child rapist Donal Trump to visit.

ACL says legitimate churches could be caught up
In any crackdown on coercive practices.

What a good idea.
Cult says cults are cool!

Despite its name, the Australian Christian Lobby is not in any way representative of Christians, Christianity, or the teachings of Christ. Quite the contrary. The organisation is a toxic, far-right, homophobic, sexist hate group, masquerading behind religious affiliation.

“We have been amazing allies” says Trump as our sovereignty goes down the drain and we capitulate to militarism, US hegemony and containment of China. We will inevitably be dragged into a war with our most important trading partner. A sad, dangerous day not a diplomatic triumph!

Doug Cameron’s voice and common sense is sorely missed from parliament.
The commentary from the Australian press on the AUKUS deal is naive, breathless claptrap. Shallow, partisan, uninformed commentary with the ABC Morning show interviewing an American who thinks Rudd is still PM.Would be funny if it was not so dangerous!

Professor Jeffrey Sachs on the brutality of the US campaign against Venezuela—I presume this is during Trump's first term as he speaks of Bolton.

Also, we should note that Machado has called Trump and said, "I'm accepting this in honor of you, because you really deserved it." We know how this ends.
