Baseless, divisive and excessive, rhetoric from a desperate Coalition demonstrates that political survival comes before dignity, truth and the national interest. Demanding govt ministers cry in public to show support for victims of terrorism is juvenile, nonsensical claptrap!

Looks like a Royal Commission is on the cards. Terms of Reference will be important. Will it:
•Examine the role of religious extremism in a secular society?
. The impact of Israeli genocide, imperialism, and apartheid on domestic politics?
. The influence of Israel on MPs?

I have policy differences with the PM. Nevertheless Albo is a smart, hardworking and successful politician. The pile on by the RW media a desperate opposition and Frydenberg is disgusting. Blaming him personally for an act of terrorism is grubby, partisan, opportunist politics.

Minns fails to understand that real democracy requires concerned citizens demonstrating against inhumanity, genocide, apartheid, colonialism and misuse of power. A Labor Premier must not sacrifice democratic rights on the altar of ill informed, short term, knee jerk reactions.
December 19, 2025 at 8:41 PM
Labor must critically analyse the effect on democracy and the right to protest of adopting the Segal report recommendations.
Conflating antisemitism with legitimate opposition to Israeli govt genocide, apartheid and breaches of international law would be a grave mistake.

Disgusting, cowardly anti semitic terrorist attacks on Australian citizens cannot be justified. We need a calm and measured response not a knee jerk reaction. The families of victims need support in their time of grief. Peace and tolerance needed here and in the Middle East.

Tomorrow morning 9.00am I’m on @the_sunday_shot with Zoe Daniel,Jo Dyer and Dave Milner. Discussing the year in review, the dreaded AUKUS, parliamentary “entitlements”, housing, cost of living, political courage, Palestine, Trump, global warming and much more!
December 13, 2025 at 12:54 AM
“Full steam ahead” on AUKUS. Hegseth “applauds” another $1B of our money handed over to the US military industrial complex. Wong claims it’s a win for Australia 😳
Abandoning our sovereignty, preparing for war with our most important trading partner, is a disaster not a win!
December 8, 2025 at 8:45 PM
Interesting article from Wayne Swan. The strength of Labor used to be “contentious” debate resulting in good policy.
Discipline is ok but conformity is a recipe for militarism and neoliberalism.
Progressive taxation, public housing and a social wage is not contentious.
December 6, 2025 at 9:29 PM
More AUKUS secrecy and political manipulation by Trump as we dance to the tune of the US military industrial complex. Champagne corks popping as the bank accounts of lobbyists, former politicians, defence personnel and public servants burst with AUKUS $s. Militarism gone mad!
December 5, 2025 at 6:46 PM
What a surprise! Trump, according to Richard Marles is “completely supportive” of AUKUS,
We abandon our sovereignty, sign a one sided dud deal, subsidise the US and UK military industrial establishments, build public housing for US troops, antagonise China.
What a deal for Trump!
December 4, 2025 at 9:57 PM
As criticism of the atrocious AUKUS deal increases, what better than some shock horror headlines of another Chinese flotilla. The hypocrisy knows no bounds as we snuggle up to Trump by conducting “freedom of navigation” exercises off the coast of China.

A corrupt, despicable US President calls for a pardon for Netanyahu who bears responsibility for death, destruction, apartheid and genocide. This would be a huge blow to what is left of the rule of law, democratic processes and decency in the US and Israel. These are our “allies”!
November 30, 2025 at 7:10 PM
A secretive joint committee modelled on the PJCIS ( by far weakest of its type in comparative nations) will not deliver the scrutiny and accountability desperately needed on AUKUS.
This committee won’t address militarism, loss of sovereignty, and a potential war with China.
November 27, 2025 at 7:27 PM
Trump spends US taxpayers money on military golf courses. We subsidise the US war machine through the crazy $365B AUKUS fiasco.
We build public housing for a US base in Australia while our citizens are homeless.
The political establishment has gone crazy!
November 23, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Murdoch rag the Australian plunging to new depths of bias, partisanship and stupidity. Features former disgraced Qantas boss Alan Joyce calling for weaker industrial laws, and more power for corporations. Labor should reject this madness and condemn ruthless corporate behaviour.
November 23, 2025 at 8:16 PM
Hundreds of jobs destroyed at the iconic CSIRO while we subsidise the US and UK military industrial establishments with no guarantee of ever receiving nuclear powered subs designed to attack China, our most important trading partner. Militarism gone mad! Well said Ed Husic 👏
November 19, 2025 at 6:29 AM
CBA boss Mat Comyn exposes the mindset of too many Australian business “leaders”. That is, shareholders profits come before fairness, decency and morality. Battlers treated with disdain and sacrificed on the altar of profit before people. A disgusting and arrogant performance!
November 18, 2025 at 10:38 AM
This polemic by Downer shows why Labor will cruise to another win at the next election.
When will conservative commentators understand that defending Trump, apartheid and genocide against Palestinians, and denying global warming are recipes for on going electoral oblivion?
November 14, 2025 at 7:57 PM
Another example of the failures and dangers of deregulation, privatisation, inadequate oversight and effective registration of providers.
TAFE was sacrificed on the altar of neoliberal greed and ideology. Governments need to prosecute the shonks and increase TAFE funding.
November 13, 2025 at 7:52 PM
Murdoch rag,”The Australian” compares Bob Carr’s opposition to Israeli apartheid and genocide against Palestinians to the disgusting display of Nazism at NSW parliament.
Bob’s courage, commitment and defence of innocent Palestinians deserves praise not character assassination.
November 11, 2025 at 9:02 PM
This is what happens when govts abandon their obligation to build a good society, capitulate to “the market” and ignore the principle of housing as a human right.
This is an easy fix. Legislate to outlaw developer apartheid against social tenants and build more public housing.
November 6, 2025 at 6:57 PM
The US doesn’t need to pressure Labor against supporting the nuclear disarmament treaty. We are partners of US militarism and will willingly host nuclear weapons Richard Marles should just concede this reality. #4Corners doing its best to support AUKUS, militarism and Chinafobia!
November 3, 2025 at 10:28 AM
A dose of reality from Hugh White as he dismantles the arguments for AUKUS and exposes the stupidity of world leaders abandoning dignity and common sense to suck up to Trump.
Confronting China in its backyard while being mute on US nuclear testing is a recipe for disaster.
October 31, 2025 at 8:45 PM
Instead of the shallow, biased and uninformed drivel that passes for “analysis” on #Insiders they could cut to the chase and concede:
Sovereignty gone.
We are subjugating ourselves to the US.
Militarism dominates.
We are a bigger nuclear target.
We are subsidising US hegemony.
