Tax dollars already do much of the heavy lifting on medical research (at least until the current admin). The idea that medical science wouldn't happen without outsized profits (which mostly go to investors and private equity) is right wing propaganda.

Half the amount that everyone currently pays could provide universal healthcare. Private health companies don’t need to exist. Eliminate them. And use your collective buying power and economies of scale to get it done. Every cent of their profit is healthcare denied.

Im in shock over what happen in Bondi yesterday and unable to think about anything else
Thinking of my Jewish friends & connections, and the entire Jewish community, and the fear and grief they are feeling. My heart breaks for the families of those killed, and the trauma inflicted on the community.

Just found out about the shooting in Bondi. My heart breaks for the families affected. I'm so sad for the Jewish community and for all of us. This is a crime against our entire community and I fear what will happen next.
