The reality of embracing AI everywhere. Already impacting self employed artists, copywriters, coders next it'll be musicians, authors, journalists, editors, accountants, financial advisors, photographers, models...
While I'm not quite at the point of losing my house, the harm ai has done to my animation work income is huge, like 80% gone and it makes me wonder how many freelance artists and animators ARE losing everything while billionaire con men continue to rake it in.

Our local labour MP talking sense around immigration along with some other Labour back benchers. Pity their party have turned into Reform wannabes. It's not what 'the country wants', it's what the right wing press want us to think the country wants, and they've fallen for it. Massively.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

You do get the feeling that Zack and the Greens if ever given the chance would bring about positive change to the country unlike Reform/Farage who have no interest in improving the country, only dividing it more, and the Tories/Labour who see the US becoming a Police state and think 'lets copy that'
Final day of conference - and the energy has been amazing.

Our country is a mess. The world is in turmoil. We've got lots to do.

And we're ready.

Nathan Gill is no fringe politician.

He was the leader of the Reform Party and before that UKIP in Wales.

A Brexit Party MEP.

A friend and ally of Nigel Farage, who in 2016 called him:

"terrific," and "as honest as the day is long."

This is a MASSIVE story

"Before Brexit we didn't have a small boats problem because we had 27 return agreements with EU countries and we could return people"

It's not even a 'new' runaway, they are just 'moving' (ok, rebuilding) their backup runway 12m away from the main one so they can use them simultaneously. £2.2bn to 'move' something 12m is £1,833,333 per cm.

Reform UK, which has a grand total of four MPs, was just given an uninterrupted platform for an hour and a half on the BBC and Sky News channels, in order to talk about its plans for mass deportations

When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?

How the Swiss would have done HS2, better and cheaper.

Great write-up by @simoncalder.bsky.social in the @the-independent.com of my alternative vision for HS2.

Crucially: depends on stable funding!

If you are not concerned by the proscription of Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation because you think it doesn’t impact you, you are wrong.

This is an authoritarian abuse of power by the government & it curtails all of our civil liberties #r4today
On LBC @zoejardiniere.bsky.social lists 3 previous instances where military aircraft have been targeted by campaigners in order to prevent them being used in war crimes, and she describes the govt banning Palestine Action as terrorists as an abuse of state power.

Well said.

So in MS Teams, you have to still have access to an organisation to leave said organisation. And if the organisation has already locked your account or no longer exists...you can never leave. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Anyone else starting to feel the proliferation of AI is the end of ALL culture as we know it? It won't be long before ANYTHING could be AI generated. Book, film, photo, art, music. And no one will bother stating it was AI generated as it'll be so common. 😳 Anyway, happy Saturday
