the worst part about this is that there are actually some real questions about the California wealth tax proposal that could result in it getting struck down by the courts or backfiring

but of course, instead of highlighting that the cringe SF neolibs chose to hold a “march for billionaires”
i rag on the left sometimes for self-marginalizing but credit where credit is due the new liberals have proved that liberals are just as capable of such things. if not more
amazing things are happening in SF

it’s funny how everyone is talking about Newsom when Ossoff is, by far, the strongest 2028 candidate. he’s about to cruise to re-election in Georgia and when he does I think folks will start to wake up and realize he’s been the one all along
SEN. OSSOFF: “.. why are roving gangs of masked men — who look like they couldn’t pass the Army physical exam — dressed up like pretend Delta Force operators, on our streets, demanding papers, dragging people from their cars, and shooting people to death?”

DR OZ: I don't believe so. Secretary Kennedy has been advocating for measles vaccines

Been thinking how much some bits of MAGA match up with Russia’s use of the culturally and economically surplus manpower of 40-something men from the provinces as cannon fodder in Ukraine
his email to me said that i have "no value" and i am pretty much convinced that it was projection. i almost feel bad for him.

The U.S. economy used to do so well that conservatives had to invent the culture wars and being upset about other people’s genitalia to have something to complain about.

Trump has now fixed that by tanking the economy so hard that people now care about paying bills and affordability.

Hours before Maduro’s first court appearance on federal criminal charges, a senior Justice Department official amplified a post speculating that the Venezuelan dictator would try to plead to lesser charges by proffering “evidence” that the 2020 U.S. election was stolen.

step 2: now everyone can afford to live in a spacious single family home with a yard and a garage close to school, work, and amenities

step 3: utopia :D

like, car ownership costs the average American over $1k/month. the absolute max fare for nyc transit is $150/month.

anything we can do that enables people to ditch their car and take frequent, reliable transit service (saving $850/month) is far more valuable than zeroing out that $150/month

The thing is, if you assume that relationships are relationships, and it doesn’t matter what medium they’re over, a guy who sacrifices a few family members to keep good with a community of hundreds or thousands is making the right choice
I have lost count of how many 'my father/son/brother/friend was a decent guy until he fell down the right wing rabbit hole and now he's so insane his family stopped talking to him' stories there are.

A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by name—citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.

One aspect of US housing policy that doesn't work is the fact that we simultaneously:

A—Want "more affordable" housing
B—Want the middle class to put wealth into housing & to increase their wealth that way (indeed, they do: usafacts.org/answers/how-... )

These two goals are difficult to reconcile!
Trump: "I don't want to drive housing prices down. I want to drive housing prices up for people who own homes."

My house has more than doubled in value since I had it build 13+ years ago. That is ridiculous and it shouldn't be that way, let's build more homes, I want my home value to go down.

Also, stop looking at your home as apart of your net worth. It isn't an asset to be grown it is a necessity.

Their only housing plan really was mass deportation.
Trump: "People that own their homes -- we're gonna keep them wealthy. We're gonna keep those prices up. We're not gonna destroy the value of their homes so that somebody who didn't work very hard can buy a home."
