Are Trump and Melania going to throw paper towels or toilet paper rolls at the flood victims in Texas when they tour the damage area today?

Protect the judiciary! They're what's putting the brakes on Trump. The Republicans in Congress suck!
BREAKING: Over 130 former federal & state judges have filed an amicus brief urging the court to drop charges against Judge Dugan in Wisconsin

The charges seek to criminalize judicial discretion & set a dangerous precedent for executive overreach

We MUST defend judicial independence👇

Oh, wow! This is who has been in charge of the chainsaw???
This was today… Sotally tober… NYT clearly way off base…

We all lose when history is rewritten or erased. If we don't know the truth about the past, how can we move forward into an enlightened history? It's the dumbing down of all of us. Resist!

The impact of racism is insidious and malicious. Don't let the culls spouting white supremacy and hate make you doubt yourself. You are here for a purpose that is still unfolding and beautful.
The one messed up thing about racism is this world is that at times the constant hate makes me doubt myself and my people. It’s unhealthy by design.

Not just 47. All Republicans bear responsibility for allowing starvation of children across the globe. We must hold them accountable.
"The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; and I am beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality."

The folks who sat on their hands or voted for Donald Duck (thanks, nephew)gave us this mess.
You also voted for the shit show that we are now enmeshed in - and the very real possibility of the destruction of our democracy.

Trump's cruelty seems quite deliberate revenge on average Americans. We aren't real people to him, just pieces on a chess board to shove around to stroke his ego and fuel his greed.
The GOP budget bill is 1,116 pages long but it boils down to this one simple fact:

Republicans are facilitating a massive transfer of wealth to the richest Americans while making cuts that would rip away healthcare and food from millions of people.

It's Robin Hood in reverse.
May 22, 2025 at 3:22 AM
Anybody surprised that Trump lied about this too?
Not satisfied with merely slashing Medicaid

Republicans now want to demolish MEDICARE as well

Which would severely harm seniors and disabled people

Plus bankrupt rural hospitals

Seriously-how many Americans are Trump and MAGA Republicans going to kill so they can give Elon Musk another tax break
May 22, 2025 at 3:15 AM
He showed himself to be exactly who he is today, a vicious racist. Shameful. That's our president.
📌Basically, what this rust-orange monster did today was verbally assault South African President Cyril Ramaphosa with racist lies and venom, as a nod to Elon Musk and his white nationalist base. It's out of the same odious Birther playbook he pulled with Obama.
I'm not wrong about this.

This discussion makes sense to me in a terribly grim way. How the hell did we get here and how the hell do we get out of this mess?

Agree! It's a distraction to divert our attention off the Trump destruction of our democracy. And it's a nasty smear campaign. I'd take Biden back with all his foibles and failings in a hot minute over the evil that Trump is unleashing on the American people.

The Republicans are utterly heartless. They choose tax breaks for the wealthy over children.
May 14, 2025 at 3:47 AM
This is outrageous!
So, a single parent of a 7-year-old is subject to work requirements to qualify for SNAP. But a *married* parent of a 7-year old can stay home to care for their child, if their spouse works.
The Ag Committee's part of the Reconciliation Bill raises the SNAP work requirement age for able-bodied adults without dependents from 54 to 64. It also changes the definition of "dependent child" from under 18 years to under 7 years old to determine "Able-bodied adult without dependents."

I hope people realize that tariffs are a direct and regressive tax on us (the poor get hit at the same rate as the rich). They will spike inflation and add to already unacceptable prices. Businesses get jerked around by Trump's volatility; a 90 day pause is a guarantee for more chaos ahead.
May 13, 2025 at 3:42 PM
The Republicans silence on this is deafening.
Outrageous that Trump is allowed to accept a 400 million dollar jet from Qatar! The emoluments clause of the Constitution forbids this. Isn't that the supreme law of the land? Are all restrictions removed for Trump because he has immunity for official acts while in office? Is everything for sale?

Interesting note on the Creole background of the new pope! I wonder if this will give any of the racist bigots in this country pause for thought. Sadly, that includes both our current president and vice president.

Obscene to spend this kind of money on a military parade to stoke one man's ego. Feed the hungry. House the homeless. Provide due process for immigrants facing deportation. And, yes, treat our veterans with the respect we owe them!

And we need to demand better!
We deserve much better than this.

Definitely! She's not intimidated by Trump and she calls out his cruelty.
Jasmine Crockett isn't being quiet about it—when it's time to elect the next House Oversight Committee ranking member, she wants the job.

And she’s earned it.

Let's back up @repjasmine.bsky.social . We need her voice in leadership—ASAP!

We all need to be out in the streets that day protesting, especially if he does his damn parade.
