I've been a fan of obscure stuff for long enough to tell you: no amount of someone being just as into the stuff you love makes up for socializing with terrible people. You can be just as good friends with someone who doesn't know what you're talking about.

I'm gonna tell you guys about a conversation I had while standing in line at the Kamen Rider booth at LACC today. You often see the same few tokusatsu fans at all the local events. One guy I've seen multiple times stood in line with us for photos, and pointed out a controversial tokusatsu YouTuber.
