My thoughts on prohibitions: prohibitions don't work.
Prohibition of alcohol? Didn't work out well.
Prohibition of drugs? Didn't work out well.
Prohibition of sex work? Didn't work out well.
Prohibition of immigrants?

You get the idea.

Pete ‘Twinklage,’ a low class writer who I don’t know and never even heard of, has been very unfair to “TRUMP” lately. 100% percent negative coverage (probably Illegal). Nasty Peter has no clue! Meanwhile, your president (90 percent approval rating among women!!) keeps WINNING - lowest….

Trump is not a kind; Trump's word is not law.
"[L]et a crown be placed thereon, by which the world may know, that so far as we approve of monarchy, that in America the law is king. For as in absolute governments the King is law, so in free countries the law ought to be king...." Thomas Paine, 1776

Under federal law, registered foreign nationals must carry proof of registration with them at all times. But prior to a second Trump administration, it was rarely enforced.

This was a fun conversation, about Trump's second term as an effort to roll back the legal and cultural changes of the civil rights movement. Look for it on a future episode of The UnPopulist's Zooming In podcast.

Age verification laws have been passed in at least 24 states. Some say it’s an effort to protect kids, while others say it restricts protected speech.

🚨WOW. It turns out that a "Tren de Aragua gathering" the Trump admin said it broke up in March ... was just a BIRTHDAY PARTY.

None of the people arrested at the party seem to have any criminal record — and none have been charged criminally in the months since it happened.

The Brennan Center and @cato.org filed a brief in support of the @aclu.org ’s challenge to the administration’s use of the Alien Enemies Act to detain and deport Venezuelans. The president exceeded the limits of his powers by invoking a wartime law to conduct peacetime immigration enforcement.

This is heartbreaking. Listen to Ming Li "Carol" Hui, from ICE detention, break down in tears as she contemplates having to leave her family behind. She has no criminal record and had permission from ICE to stay despite a removal order for over a decade — yet Trump's revoking it.
Ming Li Hui, who has lived in a Missouri town for 20 years, is getting deported. This has shocked and angered the locals, many of whom back Trump.

She spoke to us on our podcast straight from jail. She broke down in tears and made a wrenching appeal.
