Playing D&D with my kids last night, & they ran into a Knight who refused to dishonour himself with any petty lefts, lying, fraud or criminal acts.

They owe him 300GP, but he won't abide them cheating or robbing to get it.

It's fun watching them try to figure out how to pay him back.

You've always wanted to store your TTRPG dice inside a frog, admit it.
Tryin to sell 20 frogs today to try and get on track for some of these surprise bills flowing through the ether today... I'm at 2/20 sold

I also gotta get fish on my website - if you're interested in a fish just shoot me a DM

I had a lump in my throat watching this scene in the latest Starfleet Academy.

Cirroc Lofton played Jake Sisko on Deep Space 9 (still my fave Trek.)

His character Jake was a writer & a journalist, something I pursued professionally, & so I held the character close.

A Ben Sisko episode?

Kids out with friends at birthday parties.

Wife out with the girlfriends at the symphony.

Writing without interruption until I glance at the clock and it's 2am. Flow state.

Whoops. 😅

Today I want to share one of the coolest artists - Ruan Jia. The guy’s skill level is basically god-tier, and the level of detail is just insane. Some of his pieces honestly look like they were made in 3D, but nope-all done by hand. Absolutely wild🤩

I enjoy everything I see Capaldi in.

I like imitating his Malcolm Tucker and his version the Doctor when I run NPCs in my TTRPG games.

Players are either totally horrified or utterly amused when I unleash a profane, Malcolm-style rant in game.

Calling players a "Fetus" always gets a big reaction

I gave one of my players a magic spear designed to kill vampires, and it has a magical summon property where it can fly back to his hand, like Thor's hammer, and do a second attack.

All I am saying is, he is obliged to do something rad as fuck with this item.

Making new characters with the kids for the next D&D campaign, I like these origin feats in 2024.

Sitting down finally to go through the 2024 D&D rulebooks since the last 2014 campaign wrapped up.

These are good. I like them.

They are definitely more player-friendly than the old edition.

In my VtM campaign, one of my players couldn't decide who his touchstone would be.

Over a few sessions, they became attached to a hyper-competent, take-no-shit, hacker feminist.

She's their fave NPC.

She was their foil. I named her Moira, after Moira Rose (Schitt's Creek).

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy has this underlying theme of a society rebuilding itself after a collapse, a rupture.

TOS had a cold-war vibe, & addressed race relations.

TNG was often about balancing philosophies, rights & values that conflict with each other.

Is it just me or was the audio on Starfleet Academy's S1E3 totally muffed?

Holly Hunter's opening dialogue sounded like she was eating the mic, Robert Picardo had peaky audio, & other scenes sounded as if levels were too low compared to the music.

😩

The show is gorgeous but audio needs love.

Fellow GM's and public speakers.

After you shred your voice at a multi-hour event in a loud room, how do you recover?

I've been doing honey, lemon tea and silence, but if you have another method, please let me know.

Today one of my players readied an action to push an enemy in D&D combat.

It was just such a logical choice, that on the monsters' turn, I had it jump in front of the player, only to be pushed to its death.

The players cheered.

The forethought had to be rewarded.

I feel so thankful about today's D&D event going off smoothly.

Not one, but three people said I should be uploading my one-shot adventures for sale online if they are this level of quality.

He said he'd been a forever GM for 10 years & never ran such a smooth, fun adventure w/ this flow.
