The other players howled with glee.
"I bet he's the son of the woman you killed last season!" (He was. I rewarded my astute Toreador some extra XP)
Then the Tremere player sniffed - "I would have known it was a trap from the beginning."
Me: "Of course, that's why it's not a trap for YOU."

Turns out, he was a vampire hunter on a quest for revenge.
He laced his blood with a poison that would paralyze a vampire. When she bit him, she ingested the poison.
The player rolled her constitution saving checks & failed.
She awoke, bound & imprisoned in a warded ring of salt.

Player: "I have to have him. I want to be his sire & make him my vampire boytoy!"
I telegraphed the signs he dabbled in the occult.
She never even asked his name. When it came time to drink wine laced with poison, she didn't even question it.

I've had half the cabal from our Mage campaign we played 10 years ago make cameos.
I have the anniversary edition rulebook, it's just so good.
If I could get it in hardcover, I would

Sinners is an interesting addition to the vampire genre.
It had way more to say than I could build out into my game, even at my most overtly political.
I think FD Signifier offers some useful insights & observations - & Sinners easily serves as inspiration for a VtM campaign or characters.

By the finale, they were running guns with anarcho-vampire biker gangs to protect BP activists from Camarilla oligarchs.
Then, they slaughtered the Manson family with the help of their BP vampire allies they'd forged over many sessions.
They ripped Charlie Manson's heart out of his chest 😅

Instead of making a new character, he just bailed altogether.
He said he didn't want to play a racist. (Then why make a racist character? a'duh)
I was disappointed, but I don't regret the story choices.
The rest of the players forged on, & engaged deeply w/ the material in earnest
