An artistic homage to a favourite Leyendecker painting: Stede, dressed in his anachronistic explorer’s outfit, canonical to the show, tenderly holds the claw-paw of Ed, who is wearing a purple and orange Kraken outfit with squiddy tentacles. This riffs off the original which shows a young man tenderly holding the claw of a girl in a dragon outfit. As a fan artist, I attempted to replicate hallmarks of Leyendecker’s style digitally, including sharp angled clothing folds, crisp edges, and a neutral background providing prominence to the central figures.

Stede licks food off his lips and fingers…teasing, tosses back his wine like a flirt and touches Ed more than he has all day. They start kissing and it gets a little heated, Ed pulls back and presses his forehead to Stede’s. There's heat that’s been building all day rushing to the surface and demanding attention. He forgets that there are other things to do with mouths and hands and tongues, and sets them to work, hurrying toward an end. “I should probably be a good boy and go home, you know,” he says. Ed falls against Stede’s side with a huff. Good boy. Jesus. “Thought we already established that being good is boring.” Starts to kiss again and then Spaceship jumps up between them and Stede rolls away, content to be distracted by the cat (but also forming a completely diabolical plan).
