More of this, please!

Trump pulled the US out of WHO. Two states took matters in their own hands. Illinois just joined GOARN, which provides info/resources to help control outbreaks & public health emergencies.

California was the first. Isolationist agenda will backfire.

I am thrilled that after two years of negotiating we finally have a contract that our members could accept. This document will be a foundation on which we can build a more equitable, flexible and stronger workplace.
It’s official! Members of the Science News Media ratified their first contract. 🎉 🎊

Together, we won:

✅ Guaranteed cost-of-living raises
✅ Separate sick leave
✅ Equity raises for some employees
✅ Just-cause rights
✅ Paid parental leave of 6 weeks

@standupforscience.bsky.social appreciation thread
Science Fight Club is important and necessary for two reasons:

1. Science has become incredibly political, as identity politics took over ALL politics.

2. Scientific institutions don't typically "fight"
and look where that got us. 🧪
It's Festivus, so I'm going to air some grievances.

1. If you're going to write a year end story about how scientists responded to authoritarianism and *NOT* include @standupforscience.bsky.social in the write up or cite that the photo you used as your header is from one of our rallies...that's bs.

All I want for Christmas is a fair contract but the @society4science.bsky.social is dragging their feet and now says they won't give us a proposal until next year. Our CEO gets huge raises far in excess of many guild members' salaries. Meanwhile, many of us are struggling to make ends meet.
In 2024, @society4science.bsky.social CEO @mayaajmera.bsky.social received a $79,875 salary increase. Meanwhile, Monday will mark 600 days since we started negotiating with the Society.

We get that the font is a bit small. So feel free to read the entire filing here: shorturl.at/8aMAZ
