I feel like Jack Dorsey’s former ties to this place are a PR problem to address, at least among the technical community.
Someone in the fediverse claimed the leadership had “authoritarian tendencies” and when I asked what they meant, they pointed to Dorsey.
Like, he left a long time ago.

I have a long list of unbelievable stories, but I'll go with... I once ended up getting coffee with Trent Reznor, and we spent a decent portion of the time swapping baby-care tips (we were both first time fathers and my kid was a few months older, iirc).

Theory (based on beers in the sun earlier): tech companies have become so big and lucrative that they have been captured by the same MBA/marketing/sales dipshits as any mature industry, but with tech there is far more room to just make shit up, if not outright pressure to do so.

Australia's richest woman had demanded the National Gallery of Australia remove a portrait of her. Rinehart appears to have fallen victim to the 'Streisand effect', a term coined after Barbra Streisand launched a lawsuit in 2003 to try to remove an aerial photo of her California beach house from an online collection. Streisand’s attempt to suppress the images led to almost half a million people visiting the Pictopia site to view the photo within a month.
