From the gamedev community on Reddit: PSA: Most animated horse assets you can buy are subpar in terms of anatomy and not good enough if your target audience includes "people who like horses"

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing.

They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays.

The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. A year later, nearly half of participants said they had housing.
Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.

Really disappointed in Pokémon Pocket's meta.

Most matches are determined by whose deck bricked less. If both decks work, going 2nd is the next determiner.

Skill usually only matters when both decks are mostly bricking.

And how about game design literature? What are books you've found actually useful and applicable to your day to day?

Particularly systems design.
There seems to be very little useful resources there.

What's the state of game dev degrees nowadays?

Are there any schools like DigiPen that will get your attention on a job applicant?

Petition to make "Hi, what are you reading?" the conventional greeting.

"How are you doing?" hasn't been appropriate for some time now. Deprecated.

I got some unexpected feedback about my interview for the new job I just started, and I thought I would share some takeaways since there’s a lot of curiosity around how one lands a job like this one.

You’re your own best advocate. Know what stories represent you - in in any industry.

My new manager shared a part of my interview that stuck with him. It was the last story I shared, in our final chat when he asked “is there anything else you want us to know?”

I thought for a moment and said, “That I’m not just management & high concept. I know how to get things done.” 🧵
