Seeing JMU NCAAF in the playoff at the expense of UVA makes me happy.
That is likely a sign I am not a good person, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve become more likely to accept that.
Do I have a misalignment in my back due to this massive chip on my shoulder I’ve carried for 25+ years?

I very much enjoyed this episode; one key for the growth of local lower level soccer clubs in the U.S. is tapping into similar funding sources as college football but with the added difficulty (for new clubs) of not having alumni networks.

Knowing multiple languages helps cross-cultural understanding; for example, Chinese also has a term for “brother from a different mother”.
In Chinese it's 继父母 or 后父母 meaning 'succeeding parent' which makes delightful amounts of sense (继 is also used for stepchildren and stepsiblings which makes just a bit less sense)
Half siblings are 异父兄弟姐妹 'different father brothers and sisters' or 异母兄弟姐妹 'different mother brothers and sisters'

"The U.S. agricultural workforce fell by 155,000 — about 7 percent — between March and July, according to an analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data. That tracks with Pew Research Center data that shows total immigrant labor fell by 750,000 from January through July."

We need more referees in order to support the growth of youth soccer in the United States. Qualified referees can keep players safer by calling fouls and warning players not to play in a dangerous manner.
Adult referees in youth soccer can also de-normalize bad behavior by parents and coaches.
