This is so perfect. Obviously it applies to pretty much anything, from benefits to “small boats”, people will always game the system. But you have to risk said people getting away with it in order to help the people who really need it. (H/t @lfckammy.bsky.social)

FWIW, after 2+ decades in 🇬🇧 diplomacy my settled view is that BBCWS is *the* (not *a*) vital element of British soft power and the continued attacks on its funding are nothing short of barbaric and self defeating.
