Overnight worker in a big city. My interests are many things: Furries, science, nature, art, writing, games, food. Hoping to improve and expand on my interests. Sitting on Godot+Blender+ClipStudio Paint. Trying to seriously dig into it, but life is busy!

2024 started strong for me but things tapered off. I do believe part of it is a me thing, but I recognize that I have obstacles still to work through, mainly space, time and location/money issues.
I managed to get many of the tools I wanted so I can work on my own things. But it's been rough
Eh, sort of an updated info for new follows.
Just a working dude that wants to game and write. This is a very early acct and is casual for now. I can seem random at times. I promise I'm normal, just big energy about things.

As I always say when some right-winger starts going on about "red tape that slows innovation", every regulation on the books represents a lesson we as a society learned the hard way, and then encoded so we wouldn't forget. It's someone's blood & pain.
I once knew a Federal bank examiner, and one time someone asked him why we had to KEEP inspecting banks over and over. He basically said every new batch of business school grads invents bank fraud from first principles.
AirBnB CEO calling it “vibe revenue” just 👨‍🍳 😘

The underlying cause of every bubble - debt masquerading as financial innovation - depends on not just short financial memory & speculative neophytism, but reinventing jargon of finance, like how each generation of kids has new ways to say same things.

Yes, but it’s not the ruling everyone thinks it was.

This article doesn’t even include the real original sin: The 1974 SCOTUS ruling in Buckley v. Valeo, which held that spending money is a protected form of speech and that independent expenditures could not be limited by Congress.
The original sin: Five Supreme Court Republican appointees, many helped onto the Court by right-wing billionaires, open the floodgates for unlimited political spending. Then they refuse to police anonymous political spending they know is corrupting. This is the result.
How billionaires took over American politics
The current concentration of wealth is unlike anything in history. So is billionaires’ involvement in politics.

Heads up if you're a minor I just want to implore you guys to not talk to people on social media unless you're sure you're talking with peers around the same age, don't confide in adults even if you look up to them, just practice general safety, and don't let people know you're a minor

Felt weirdly healing Explaining to someone cancel culture as used by conservatives isn't real and that nobody owes whoever is being canceled attn, and that it's only a reaction to revealing something awful about you that someone else has every right to not like or want to have in their space.

Had to block a couple of centrist Dems upset at me criticizing the Dem party. Say something critical about the party and you get "you're sowing division!" and "Oh, yeah?? Jill Stein". Babe. I voted for Kamala. I loathe Stein. If you're uncomfy being honest about corruption in the Dems, sit with it
It's tempting to think white rural US voted solely on racism/ misogyny. That's a terrible oversimplification. They voted for populism. Bc Americans want populism and Tr*mp is a faux populist while Dems represent "the swamp" and "elites" to much of this country. That lie is catching up to Tr*mp.
Tr*mp’s big lie that will be his downfall

Avalon def has a harsh progression curve early on. Its perk system is good, but item requirements for many things you find early on require somewhat high and strict conditions. And leveling a stat alone doesn't help as much as activating a perk does.

Games: jump higher than real life! Run faster and longer!

Games with stamina: get tired after one action. Jump then pass out from exhaustion. Jog slower than real life and get tired.

Up that beginning stamina meter in your games lol. Don't be scared to double the stamina.

Every time the shocking, perplexing tactic of “giving money to people who need it” is tried, it turns out to work.

And yet people who have more money than they could ever need remain baffled.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.
