Just demonstrated how to do a forward roll to 11yo who alas struggles with gymnastic activities.

It hurt.

Forward rolls shouldn't hurt, should they?

Yes, I am 52 thanks for asking.

Spotted a copy of The Expanse RPG rules & GM kit on a FB group, but selling for £70. Made an offer, because people I respect have said it has good bits.

Any RPG-heads recognise this quote and know who originally said it (we think a game designer)?

"Just because D&D is behind me does not mean it's beneath me."

Daft idea now abandoned. What a waste of everyone's time.
BREAKING Home Office is about to announce that police and crime commissioners are to be scrapped..
Established in 2012 by Theresa May, Labour has never been a fan of the PCC system…they’ll be replaced in 2028 by policing mayors & local policing boards ..

Yes, I confess, I just want to fix Jack. That is the sole reason I'm saving the galaxy, because there's a cool punk psycho who just needs a hug.
Got further into ME2 and am definitely enjoying the story a lot more. The gameplay less so, it feels more of a pure FPS than ME1 and that's not my bag. But it's not that difficult so I'm getting through without dying too much.

Finding some companions I give a damn about makes a big difference

Who's going to #Dragonmeet this year? We'll be there with our signature mimics, gelly cube soaps, funky dice trays and more.

Come by and say hello for cool wares and awkward conversation because I'm ✨bad at talking to people but really want to✨

This is very useful and informed thinking about licensed RPGs, and MERP in particular by someone who knows an immense amount about the challenges of working with big licenses.
One time at GenCon, I had an amazing chat with one of the original MERP developers. Now this wasn’t Pete Fenlon who I spoke to (in a state of awe) the next year. I never got this fellow’s name, and it’s really bugged me ever since. And over time the convo with him and Pete F have sorta merged. 1/4

BGA gives you graphs of your ranking over time for every game you play. I like this particular one, as you can see exactly when I had a "eureka" moment about a particular game

Many adventures from one RPG system can easily be ported into other RPGs.
Some are more effective than others.

LotR readthru has reached Edoras

As I said before, I'm doing a french accent for Rohan. But 11yo has highlighted a problem: I don't have multiple french accents.

So trying to differentiate between Theoden (gruff french), Eomer (normal french) and everyone else (camp high pitched Franglais?)

Much delayed, but finally started watching Generation V series 2 last night.

Some of the plotting feels a bit whiffy, but it's the strength of key cast members keeps it compelling. Lizzie Broadway, Jaz Sinclair, London Thor and Hamish Linklater are particularly compelling (so far)

Been quiet on the eBay front recently. Largely because my list has been whittled down to the rarest of rareties.

But here's my latest capture. One of the lesser spotted Torg novels. Never counted them when I considered the completeness of my collection, but trying to pick them up as an add on now

Got notification of £300 outgoing payment on my bank card

Contact Fraud team, who also suggest contacting the company claiming the payment

Snotty twat at debt collection firm who took the payment said there's no way for them to investigate individual payments.

Clearly bollocks

I like the Carry On films but the lore is too confusing, impossible for modern audiences to accept these people could play a major part in the French Revolution AND lose their bras on camping holidays

In response to some of the comments:

If you agree with *all* the reporting of a news organisation that is both independent *and* non-partisan, then it's very unlikely to be independent and non-partisan.

This is true regardless of your politics.

Agreeing with all its reporting is the wrong test

Saruman is our Patron in our game. You have him totally wrong, he’s a good guy! He’s not descending anywhere! We already gave him a palantir we found in the frozen north. And now we are in Moria fetching him stuff. Are you confusing him with Sauron? The big bad? Similar names, that’s all.

From @dorianlynskey.bsky.social, this must be one of the greatest sentences in all of English literature:

"This winding path from Lenin to Lego illustrates that anti-utopian narratives have the flexibility and portability of myths"
