The smartest thing a politician can do in 2026 is to come up with a bold plan for shoring up and EXPANDING public libraries. Call it Project 2050. It's a way to reintroduce the grammar of commoning and the commons to a new generation in a way they can easily grasp. Such low hanging fruit.

Finished @ryan-holiday.bsky.social last book of his virtue series. I still think Courage Is Calling is my favorite, but this book is unique unto itself and took no small amount of courage to write, IMO. Definitely recommend.

Remember, chasing your dreams is a radical act. Writing books and making art are expressions of optimism and faith in human nature. Conceiving of better worlds makes them possible.

Read @naominovik.bsky.social The Summer War over the weekend. A great story of fantasy and family with a heart warming ending. It was a pleasant distraction from the noise going on out in the world right now. And I love the cover - a shoutout to the designer.

A handful of angry Seattleites can stall the construction of affordable housing for YEARS but SDOT can decide to wipe out a bus-only lane in secret, seemingly overnight?
I was just as shocked with the news about the route 2 bus only lane as you. We are working on it. We need to prioritize pedestrian safety and not go backwards on our transit investments.

I am reading this - slowly but surely 🤓. The history and players are wild, it’s as close as you are going to get to actually being there.

Sesame Street will be putting a huge collection of episodes on YouTube starting in January 2026

This is a fantastic way to educate children

It’s a form of resistance.

Shows like Sesame Street teach love, tolerance, acceptance & more.

These lessons are crucial for the long fight ahead.

And there it is. People could just try being grateful for the work he already has done and contributed to.
My hot take is that if GRRM doesn’t want to finish his books he shouldn’t. And nobody else should “finish them for him”. What the fuck.

I wrote this book so people will have receipts showing US homelessness policy is inhumane and also Ronald Regan's fault, and to make people give a shit about homeless kids while seeing the hope, community, and fire with which we survive, despite all this

Was reminded by @jseattle.bsky.social post on the CHS blog that there was a new bookstore on 15th. Haunted Burrow Books has a good selection of the dark and spooky - worth checking out.
