Climate change scares me. Owned by border collies, crochet fanatic, gardener, scifi reader, wild swimmer, autoimmune spoonie, Reylo for life. Probably old enough to be your mum 🇬🇧🌿 also TheBagfish on Threads and ex-bird site

I'm looking for green-minded, climate concerned UK, politically literate people to follow. Can anyone suggest podcasters, commentators, media people, scientists, campaigners etc etc that I could connect with? Cheers all!

It is the source of so many of our evils: the astonishing concentration of wealth in the hands of a very few, and the immense political power that gives them. We cannot solve our problems until we tackle it.
This week's column.

At the root of all our problems stands one travesty: politicians’ surrender to the super-rich | George Monbiot
There are many excuses for failing to tax the ultra-wealthy. The truth is that governments don’t tackle the problem because they don’t want to, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

If the Palestine Action hunger strikers die - which they could do at any moment, as they are now very close to the end - it will be the government that killed them. Today’s column explains why. Please share, and write urgently to your MP.

Let’s be clear: if the Palestine Action hunger strikers die, the government will bear moral responsibility | George Monbiot
The three remaining hunger strikers have been convicted of nothing. Yet with astonishing cruelty, ministers refuse to listen to their reasonable demands, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

And Canada
If you are watching what is happening in Venezuela from Greenland, you know that Donald Trump may one day draw up spurious charges against your leader and then simply arrive one day, arrest him and then never leave.

Starmer is supposed to be a lawyer. Which bit of international law does kidnapping a head of state from inside their own country by another state fall under?

Does this mean Iran can now kidnap Netanyahu without consequence? Or Putin kidnap Zelenskyy? Because this is what Starmer is condoning here.

Fab video!

Breaking down the romance between Rey and Kylo Ren/Ben Solo (aka #Reylo) across the Star Wars sequel trilogy—scene by scene—to make the case that Reylo is one of the most compelling slow burn, enemies-to-lovers, fated mates romances in recent film history. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYxt...

Robin Ince is my new hero. Thankyou for standing up for those of us who are being attacked by so many elements of the media and politics right now. I'm sorry you have had to leave Monkey Cage, it and the BBC will be so much worse for your absence
Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Nigel Farage wants to get rid of the NHS and replace it with US Insurance which would be 4x more expensive and worse in every way.

Except for the £600bn a year profit for him and his mates.
