An agreement to agree to do a later vote is NOT an enforceable contract so what in the actual hell are Americans getting out of this deal??

Why would this be interesting?
Interesting would describe Hochul coming out and applauding the asshats who, after talk a big game of standing up for citizens healthcare, decided their to torch their own brand in exchange for a “promise” from GOP.
B/w the House and veto, Dems caved for nothing.

Interesting that NY gov Kathy Hochul felt compelled to put out a statement against Dems' deal to end the shutdown

The President wouldn't last five minutes as an air traffic controller, and after everything they've been through - and the way this administration has treated them from Day One - he has no business shitting on them now.

At least there are some in Congress with eyes open.
No reasonable person wants the govt to be shutdown and for ppl to work w/o pay. H/e, in this moment that shutdown was a flare to the American ppl about the rot infesting the US govt & was 1 of the only levers available to force legal compliance.

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work."
The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting.
And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

I understand the frustration amongst professional SCOTUS commentators, most of whom are smarter and better-informed than I, when something happens they confidently predicted in the face of widespread concern (or panic), like the denial of Kim Davis’ petition. But on the other hand…

Just about sums it up.
When thoughtfully developed with built in guardrails and managed by ppl with integrity, institutions can be a great benefit for people.
I like boring institutions that handle their obligations and deliver results.
Unfortunately, boring things are ignored & rot can set in.

Is it clear now why having THIS as the opposition party was not enough to prevent fascism from pervading our government?
Vote them all out as soon as possible.

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 94th day out of the last 106.
12 days of work in 106 days.
With full pay and benefits.
The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.
It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

I hope this is false. But, if it is is true, I hope my prediction is false that it will have ZERO impact on Trump's approval in the MAGA movement. He'll face no accountability. And they'll continue to support him anyway.
Because MAGA is a white nationalist cult & pedophilia isn't a deal breaker.
