Wells City Carnival was back tonight with the amazing floats, live music, street food and thousands lining the streets for one of the world's biggest illuminated parades. It was great to join the St John Ambulance team for its shift.

So delighted that Green Wedmore, a community based climate and nature action group, has been awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service. Since it was established in 2006, the group has made a big difference, developing everyday ways to reduce our environmental impact and restore nature locally.

Delighted that I’ve secured a debate in Parliament on ‘Government support for ME’ next Wednesday 19 November. This provides a valuable opportunity for MPs to share views - the first in years. I hope that many MPs will join me. Do encourage yours! #pwME

Remembrance Day provides an opportunity to honour the sacrifice of all those who have served to defend our democratic freedoms. We think too of those civilians who have lost their lives in conflict and acts of terrorism.

Today, we remember them all with gratitude, honour and respect.

Nigel Farage used to believe in reforming the voting system, now he's rowed back because it no longer benefits him.

We will keep fighting for a fair votes, not because it benefits us but because it's right for the country.

Crucial that relatives of #ChinookJustice crash victims, with legitimate concerns re the lack of answers, are heard. Delighted that during Monday’s debate on the Public Office (Accountability) Bill - ‘The Hillsborough Law’ - the Minister committed to meet with families and their MPs. I’ll be there.

For too long, ME has been underfunded, under-researched, and poorly understood. Patients deserve better.

No NHS trust has met the 62-day target for starting cancer treatment in 10 years.

Will the PM ensure the National Cancer Plan delivers the staff, equipment and investment needed to finally meet that target?

I really welcome this. Scaling up our military strength is not just about tanks and ships.

It is also about morale.

Our troops could be asked to put their lives on the line to protect us. The least we can do is give them somewhere decent to live.

I welcome Government confirmation today that it will act on five recommendations from the Infected Blood Inquiry Additional Report published in July 2025 - it’s an important step.

I’ll continue to scrutinise its response to the Scandal to ensure all affected receive full and fair compensation.

Thank you… it is my privilege to be entrusted to push for #ChinookJustice
For the 2nd time in as many days, a government minister has described our case as "serious" - also describing the "devastating" impact on our families still searching for the truth. Progress? or coincidence?

Thanks to @tessamunt.bsky.social for her support. #chinookjustice

We just defeated Nigel Farage’s Bill in Parliament to tear up people’s rights and withdraw from the ECHR.

Farage wants to do away with the Britain Churchill built and turn it into a version of Trump's America. We stopped him.

Today, I joined the families of those who died when a Chinook crashed in 1994 to deliver a petition to 10 Downing Street. They are still in the dark. The petition demands that the Defence Secretary meets with them, the documents are released, and a public Inquiry is held.

So pleased to be able to contribute to this debate on PoTS - thanks to @catsmithmp.bsky.social for securing it and constituents for prompting me. Looking to government for far better responses to this debilitating condition - funding for research and improved access to supportive specialist help.
Clip from yesterday’s Westminster debate on PoTS, Tessa Munt MP @tessamunt.bsky.social raised the case of a constituent’s daughter with #MECFS who believes she also has PoTS. After finally seeing a consultant in Bristol, she was told PoTS was “a TikTok fashion” and refused any testing.

Great to be at today’s launch of the Wells ‘Act to Adapt’ plan to kick-off Wells Eco-week. Supported by @SomersetWT and the City Council, the community has created this to respond to climate threats whilst building community, supporting local wildlife, and increasing wellbeing

Today I’ve written to the Energy Secretary urging him to block Musk’s electricity supply licence. The government should be putting the national interest first, not worrying about upsetting Elon Musk.
