FYI, post collapse if you need some replacement bike chain in Durham the Crankarm Brewery bar has some. Only for emergencies though! But for now they've got great beers and an awesome location. Ride by and have a beer before everything falls apart!

Raised crosswalks, when designed properly, don’t just slow motorist speeds, they give people on foot and bike a sense of belonging.

Design shapes behavior. Signs just plead for it.

Yesterday I met a friend of my mother in law and she was saying how her grandkids and all kids don't play outside anymore. I said it is because of all of the cars( I held back the part about the boomers building the outside that way). She pivoted to kids being kidnapped. I said that's not really ...

My Ebike has its speed and power limited from the factory because elected leaders view them as a potential hazard to the public inside of cities.

Bringing 8 foot shelves back from Home Depot and nearly getting hit by a cop because they don't understand how painted lines on the street work and don't pay attention anyway.

I'm going to try this variation on this classic sign and see if it works any better. Does it seem wrong that there is huge industry of signs asking drivers to slow down, but little actually being done by cities and states, and drivers, to build slow streets?

Hey motorists!

Hate all the traffic on those roads? Then get vocal and support mixed use development, wide sidewalks, protected bike lanes, and robust public transit!

It'll get a ton of people out of cars and therefore out of your way, revealing the open road to your leisure.

Sure would like to get some of this here in Durham NC. Unfortunately most of the schools have been built on 35 mph 3-4 lane through roads. Which are also residential streets. Or they've had the streets in front widened for high speed traffic,or they are on the edge of town where no one lives.

3rd year in a row getting the holiday tree this way. TBH it isn't much of a brag as I'm only bringing it a few blocks. One could use a child's wagon or just carry it by hand in a pinch. But using the bike lets me do other errands at the same time. Went to the library and grocery also.
