Devolution has actually worked. #Burnham has done a great job but all metro mayors have improved productivity. This is another green shoot in the economy. You can see why #Burnham wants the top job and why #Labour and #Starmer want to keep power in Manchester.

If #Rayner gets in, first move should be to clean up the old boys club of Parliament. Change the rules to get them to speak plain English, not ask this “Mr. Speaker,” modernise every part of politics, close down the bars. Do all the tricks that #Farage would pretend to do. Set up citizen assemblies.

#Apple should put the latest A19 Pro chip in their new Apple TV hardware. This is a massive graphics improvement for gaming. This could give you a console if you have a controller. Other TV hardware is not as powerful. They can make the money back on selling games. This should be priced to sell.

Please please please can the next budget index capital gains for inflation and raise the rates for higher earners to 40-45%. The IFS think it’s the right thing to do, so do it. Encourage long term investment.

#Labour should ban MPs from being Landlords as well as introducing other standards as a code of conduct that is more extensive. This would put off some people running for #Reform and give them something they need to argue for in order to reinstate. We need to save the democracy we have.

Labour just needs to close its eyes, elect Angela Rayner or Ed Miliband as leader now, and hope for the best. No one is going to emerge from this broken government as a better alternative than them so you're only wasting valuable time until the inevitable happens
