Today is Trans Day of Remembrance. TDOR is a somber day where we mourn those in our community who were lost to anti-trans violence. This year, like every year, the murdered are mostly trans women/transfeminine people of color.

I remember neo-nazis coming into town and starting fights in the late 90s. These scum never went away and now their rhetoric is becoming normalized.
For years people said it was a gross exaggeration to label Nazism and its associated viewpoints within the modern conservative movement and especially online. Now Nazis are openly thriving and their rhetoric is impossible to avoid and many of the people who downplayed it are saying nothing at all

This is bad. Trans friends, maybe avoid making any passport changes now. The government is compiling a list.
In a sworn declaration filed today, the State Dept stated that it intends to revoke and replace the passports of trans people who obtained gender marker changes under the current injunction if it is overturned by a higher court. They're maintaining a list.

My little Sweet P passed away peacefully at home this evening. Pepperoni was the sweetest friend, he never lifted a paw in anger. He constantly groomed his siblings and cuddled with them. He took his job as “living scarf” very seriously. He brought me and others joy. I will miss him.

My bestie doesn’t get paid at all even though her peers do (institutional transphobia), and if she doesn’t work she gets privileges taken away. Incarcerated folks are essentially enslaved.
Nearly 40% of incarcerated workers are paid *nothing* for their work. And the rest are paid at abysmally low wages.

1. Alert, and please share widely. A lawyer at the ACLU has asked me to inform my transgender readers that they should NOT be applying for passports right now - the state department has not issued guidance to comply with the court order and they are urgently trying to get them to do so.
