this is such a depressing misread of why Trumpism wins
American voters aren't drawn to parables
They want an enemy and they want to see that enemy hurt

‘The Bible doesn’t tell us about research studies conducted by Saint Peter. Data is going to lose to parables every time.’ (Paraphrasing)
This is why bizarre bs, rumors, and propaganda from this administration are so effective. And - filling in the blanks -why the responses have been so inadequate.

It’s very funny to me that this image I made as a shirt design 2 years ago sort of became a meme that gets reposted around but nobody ever removed the url that’s in it, an actual url that I own, and it’s just taken as part of the design.

there's an interesting idea threaded through the last three or four Jurassic Park movies: mega corporations are convinced cloning dinosaurs is worth a huge amount of money somehow but it never ever pans out
you could make a really fun movie or series with this as the underlying premise

Knowing that they loved saturated fat SO MUCH that they industrialized to get as much of it as humanly possible?

Let's ignore everything else that wrong with the hypothetical but if President Bernie Sanders even announced he was going to theoretically do this, he would be killed
Can’t help but feel that if President Bernie Sanders pulled this move the entirety of American business would try to get him pushed out of office immediately.

Some progress made in recovering U.S. Army soldiers submerged in Lithuanian swamp
U.S. Navy divers managed to successfully attach a line to a hoist point on the submerged vehicle. The goal is to hook up more hoists in order to pull the vehicle carrying the soldiers out of the mud.

Wired has been doing vital work lately but there is still an ugly core of silicon valley boot lickerism that's gotta get jettisoned at some point. this shit is embarrassing.
The brother goes on vision quests. The sister is a former English major. Together, they defected from OpenAI, started Anthropic, and built (they say) AI’s most upstanding citizen, Claude.

One of the worst aspects of these outrage grifters like Grummz is just how much they manage to dominate online discussions, going from one manufactured controversy to another, and how many people get drawn into that discourse by having to correct and counter their BS, it takes up so much oxygen.
