We’ve just launched our new fundraising appeal to ensure we’re able to keep protecting Scotland’s native red squirrels, as we have been doing since 2009.

Any amount you can give will help.

Using SeagrassSpotter is a great way to help restoration of this vital ecosystem engineer.....
🌱 Project Seagrass is marking the 10th anniversary of its SeagrassSpotter app by asking divers and snorkellers to get involved and submit new seagrass data recordings to help conservation efforts.
Help mark 10 years of SeagrassSpotter - record your sightings!
Since its launch in 2015, thousands of seagrass observations have so far been uploaded to the app

Great advice from @lgspace.bsky.social
Please don't cut back shrubs and hedgerows until wildlife has taken all the autumn berries! Hawthorn, for example, is a fantastic source of food for birds - including blackbirds, thrushes and (if the weather gets very cold) waxwings.

When rivers can be rivers, wildlife bounces back 🌊
How Beck near St John’s Beck once had just 4 trout per 100m². After restoration with boulders, trees and woody debris, our latest survey shows there are now 80 🐟

Nature bounces back when it has the right conditions. #HealthyRivers #NatureRecovery

As part of our Living Leven project we've been installing planted coir rolls along Holme Beck in Great Broughton to protect and enhance the local environment.
Coir rolls are natural, biodegradable barriers which help stabilise banks & improve water quality by filtering sediment and pollutants.

Spectacular starlings.....
Today’s #AutumnArrivalSpotlight shines on the Starling!

Forget fireworks...Autumn’s skies come alive with magnificent murmurations: vast, swirling clouds of Starlings dancing at dusk.

One of nature's greatest spectacles. 😍

A gentle reminder not to dump your Halloween #pumpkins in our woods (or indeed anywhere!)🎃 Dumped pumpkins can disturb the sensitive balance of woodland soils. Plus removing the waste costs time & money better spent on vital conservation work. 🌱
Pumpkins belong in your food waste or compost bin.♻️🙏

One in three mouthfuls of our food are due to the hard work of pollinating insects, including bumblebees. But insect populations are crashing. Help them by growing nectar-rich plants that flower in autumn, winter and early spring.
