Teejay's got experience with Allagan equipment, but people keep expecting him to work with magitek that he's not certified for. Someone's bound to get hurt.

5.0 was impactful enough that I based Teejay's lore around it. A close second is the three quests starting from In From the Cold, because holy shit what a ride.
Bonus shoutout to the 7.3 dungeon. The fights are fun (esp. the second boss) which I hope means good things for future combat design.

I'd choose the ShB combat music (Rencounter), in part because I think it'd be funny hearing sick electric guitars as soon as a fight breaks out, but only while in the First.

I don't think Teejay would find success trying to teach new things verbally, but he would be good at practical instruction. I've written in the past that I could see him becoming a combat teacher as a "retirement" job, and it would primarily be through hands-on regimens.

The hope and faith others place in Teejay, and the knowledge that he doesn't have to solve everything at once; taking things one small step at a time and making even the tiniest bit of progress can be enough.

The hope and faith others place in Teejay, and the knowledge that he doesn't have to solve everything at once; taking things one small step at a time and making even the tiniest bit of progress can be enough.
Teejay definitely prefers to stay in full armor most of the time, but even when wearing a more casual outfit, he especially covers his face due to (involuntary) facial markings that he doesn't want others to see.

Teejay wouldn't use a feral soul, but I don't think it plays out as canon either—rather than conveniently summoning a full party of shades, I think he just powers through the fights 1v1, with his more-rejoined soul countering the feral soul.

He wanted to follow in his parent's footsteps and become a scholar who researched Allagan technology (and specifically cross-shard travel).

The main one that comes to mind is that there's a Maiming piece I'd love to use on my caster glam, and will absolutely start using once I can.

Yep! Teejay's from the First outside Norvrandt, so I make up whatever I want/need.
I usually try to build off of existing canon, writing things that feel like logical extensions rather than from scratch. However, that doesn't work when we'll probably never learn about the First beyond Norvrandt...

He needs therapy for PTSD for sure (though given everything that happens, so does half of Eorzea...)
I think he'd be hesitant to open up at first, but if he did it would absolutely help him a lot. I can see it going both ways: giving up before opening, or actually doing well.

His sword and shield are Allagan relics that went from the Source the First hundreds of years ago. They'd been in his family for generations, so when he became an adventurer they were passed to him.
He lost them when traveling to the Source, and ended up having to purchase them back from Rowena...
