In 1863 The Evans Brothers got the contract for the furniture in the Ladies Hall of Oberlin college.
If anyone has furniture that at least in families oral history comes from the Ladies Hall., the Wilson Bruce Evans Historical Society would be interested in seeing it.

oldest son plays cello in school & city’s youth orchestra. not sure when happened but Smooth is now part of ‘Winter Seasonal Favorites’ concerts.
Amazing! We're now further in time from the release of turn of the century classic "Smooth" by Rob Thomas feat. Carlos Santana than "Smooth"'s debut was from the convictions of John Mitchell, HR Haldeman, and John Ehrlichman for their involvement in what was known as the "Watergate Break-In"! Wow!

DC raised, HU grad Richard Smallwood combined his love for gospel, classical, & soul to compose gospel praise songs that became standards, as well as songs covered by r& b acts. He had kidney issues recently that led to his passing.
Richard Smallwood has passed. They will call him a gospel music artist. He was that.

But Smallwood was also one of the greatest composers - period of any modern music form.

My heart is heavy. A great musical legend has left us.
