Tell me something lovely

I just finished tying slip knots for a bunch of adjustable clay pendant necklaces. My fingers are raw and I gotta say, fussy work requiring readers and and a load of patience with the do-overs is just not my jam.

But they are lovely and I’m glad it’s done #potterproblems #clayplay #ceramics

If I’m talking about dinner or TV or the dog, I probably don’t want a bleak joke about the state of the world. I promise: I know about it.

🚨HEY DENVER, GO LOOK AT THE SKY!!! 🚨

Never seen aurorae this good before. 🤯 They were totally naked-eye around 9:45pm from south Denver, bright red and green. They're coming and going, so if you don't see anything at first, try again later!

Look to the helpers, yes. But also look to yourself, because it’s up to you to see the beauty and art and spiritual satisfaction in living life fully in every moment no matter what. You discover—love for life is resistance. Joys, loves, sorrows.

Look to yourself because you’re one of the helpers.

An afternoon of grinding glaze after a glaze fire mishap. As soon as I get cocky and fire a new glaze without the use of cookies, the kiln gods gleefully teach the lesson.

I saved 3 shelves today. There’s grace in the clean slate of sanded shelf surfaces with newly applied kiln wash #potterproblems

When your party doesn’t even try to reflect the basic values you hold dear, you don’t want that as part of your identity anymore. It doesn’t fit and it feels too embarrassing and cumbersome to wear.

Also, money donations don’t buy anything but condescending lectures after they tuck tail and run 🙄
I have to hand it to them, it's an incredible bit to publicly lose a game of chicken, admit that's what happened, and then spend the next day lecturing everyone about courage and tenacity

The Democrats in the Senate created a lot of new Independents today.

Congrats, you nitwits.

Well that was a squirrelly scabbard of supercilious snail snot.
That was a turgid tankard of turtle toss.

This is a good reminder—the Dem party are establishment. When the establishment is corrupt, they are too.

Take time to lament, gnash teeth, pull hair out and scream. Denial is no longer an option.

Then get back in the fight for your life, as well as the lives of anything and everyone you love.

I don’t have a lot, but not only will I IGNORE and block all aggressive pleads for money in the future to the Dem party in general, but I will aggressively GIVE what little I have to anyone who primaries these sellouts.

We need more Bernies and AOCs. ASAP.
I will donate to anyone that primaries a democrat that caves in this fight.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

If your Senator isn’t on the surrender list, you can still call your Senator and request they use their influence to stop this. Here’s an example 👇
Hey @bennet.senate.gov and @hickenlooper.senate.gov, PLEASE go get your Dem colleagues who are thinking of caving on the shutdown.

You have more leverage NOW than you've ever had against Trump. Use it! NO DEAL WITHOUT ACA FUNDING!!!

Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.

Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.

I can’t imagine how furious the people who patiently suffered through this shutdown must be—hoping the Democrats would actually save these health care subsidies.

These are the Sens who might end the shutdown. If you're a constituent, call and tell them not to fold without renewal of the ACA credits.

🚨 We’re hearing that Senate Democrats are on the verge of caving to Trump in another “Schumer Surrender.”

That means your Democratic senators need to hear from you right now.

Nemesis says she wants to go with me to my kiln at her Aunt Ena’s house. I’m considering it, but I don’t think her 3 cousin cats would be very welcoming of her. They tolerate each other, as cats do, but I think that’s their tolerance limit.

My girl Nemesis, just by existing, reminds me that some of the most beautiful and loving creatures—including Jesus Christ—were born to exist as the perceived Nemesis/rebel of their time.

Then she gets lots of extra scritches from me because I adore that kind of shit.

Yes. Jesus was a rebel.

I’m going to have to try this Resist! chicken and rice recipe
This doesn’t have to be made in a pressure cooker if you don’t have one, but if you do, you can make it the same way I have made it one bajillion times with all kinds of seasoning combinations. My favorite right now is the Resist! blend from Penzey’s. www.budgetbytes.com/pressure-coo...
