Your daily reminder there are no ethical billionaires and tremendous wealth is not a sign of tremendous intellect.

It is, however, often a sign that something is deeply wrong with that person. Hoarding resources while millions go hungry is abnormal.

No one chooses to be disabled or chronically ill.

It’s not a moral failing.

People blame the disabled because it makes them feel morally superior.

They can tell themselves it’ll never happen to them.

It can happen to anyone. It’s a minority group you can join at any time.

Our most liked post of 2025 references a Harvard study that covers the potential effects of worker ownership on wealth inequality.

If you're concerned about the growing concentration of wealth and power, worker ownership over the means of production is particularly effective in addressing this.
A study using government data finds that if all businesses became 30% employee-owned, the bottom 90% would experience significant gains in wealth, with much of the benefits going to marginalized groups.

If we're serious about addressing wealth inequality, worker ownership must be at the forefront.

If I could give myself advice at the start of my writing career:
“David! Read about how novels are structured, plots designed, dialogue developed! It's not enough to write little gems. You have to know how to string them together.”

My antagonist is a nasty Fat Cat factory owner who eats nails. And children. And steals soup from working people. He'll eat anything or anyone. If he ever went to a restaurant, he would charge the waitstaff a fee for the privilege of serving him.
