#FOTU fans: anyone in vaguely the east midlands with a FOTU-suitable car able to spare a couple of hours at some point in the next couple of weeks (and don't mind potentially bringing it out while the weather's a bit crap)?

Imagine being Sen. Mark Kelly today.

A former astronaut, who spent 54 days in space for his country, a retired Navy pilot and combat Vet who flew 39 high-risk missions in battle, and whose retirement benefits are now being taken by a drunken frat boy like Pete Hegseth.

I stand with Mark Kelly.

Fortunately it’s had 3 coats of Lanoguard in my ownership so I’m trusting that it’s not dissolving quite yet. But yes, it looks outstanding when it’s filthy. Photo from 2 years ago when I was daily driving it to see mum in hospital.

Not usually one to brag about my presents, but thought this gorgeous pendant from Whitby's Ebor Jetworks was worth sharing.

I love the way they combine the fossilised wood of jet with ultra modern, manmade materials - in this case Detroit agate.

There’s an unedifying picture of US automotive. CEOs Farley and Filosa (not Barra though) meekly standing behind Trump while he spouts racist garbage after rolling back climate change regulations to allow them to carry on selling $80k 15mpg petrol pickups
Trump, continued: "What the Somalian people have done to Minnesota is not even believable. It’s not even believable. And a lot of it starts with the governor. A lot of it starts with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, because that’s when people started coming in... They want to kiss our country good night."

45 years ago I made a pitch for the Director-General job. Didn’t get it – mind you, I was only 13. But I did get a reply from Ian Trethowan, who was DG at the time. All these years later I’m proud to work for the BBC.

We lived in a pub when I was growing up and when I was 3 (50 years ago!) we had someone in to draw the pub for a business card. I sat next to him and watched him draw every line. I was transfixed and it was a huge inspiration for me. I’ve dreamt about owning that drawing for years…

That columnist reminds me of my idea for doing list features like "10 cars you've never heard of!" and filling it with Porsche 911s and Fiestas and Golfs and writing as if the author has only just discovered them. Or "Did you know the French made cars?", that kind of thing.

Rallye continues to show up every other car I've owned by sailing through another MOT. Windscreen has slowly been collecting stone chips and the tester has finally noticed, but none have turned into cracks.

Car's still for sale, if you know anyone interested...
