Government has published one of those quiet but important documents that might get overlooked as it is not 'newsy'. The headline finding is that £1 of public R&D investment generates £8 in net economic benefits for the UK over the long term

Children/young people sometimes are ill, sometimes too ill to attend and I think it’s okay to say out loud that this is part of life. To Emma who had recurrent tonsillitis and Sally who had glandular fever who really wanted to be at school, they couldn’t help it. Can we be careful not to alienate?

In Liverpool only 73% have had both MMR doses, one of the lowest in the country.

In 2016, the UK was declared measles free. Now, Alder Hey has treated 17 children with measles in just the last month!

The number of deaths is going to continue to increase.

Brilliant to see DfE announcing 1000 Best Start Family Hubs today. We've called for new Family Hubs for years, to reverse over a decade of cuts to family support services.

Evidence shows they benefit long-term child development, particularly for disadvantaged children.
